Re: 1966 C10 Stepside Build: Project 66 C-06

Quick question for you guys... I am looking at a lokar automatic direct fit brake pedal assembly (new arm and pedal pad). The only thing is, it's direct fit for a 67 and up. Will this work on my truck? Or better yet if I have a 67+ auto brake pedal assembly could I just swap out the pedal arm and bolt it in???

Rabbit?? There's no rabbits in AFG, might have been sheep, goat or fido.

Marmal was MUCH better than BAF. Try to get into the Swedish DFAC. Best chow there.

Looks like you are wearing out the UPS man. You will lots of fun to keep you busy when you get home.

lol, there was a whole family of rabbits that lived outside of our compound then they all at once disappeared...I'm thinking that's where they went. Last week the had wild boar goulash which was friggin' awesome. Sure as hell beats the NATO DFAC. I can't keep myself away from buying knives at the DSPX! They have some pretty cool stuff! Marmal has grown to be huge since I first got here last year. They are going to be using it as the primary staging area for the drawdown.

Yea the UPS man is definitely busy these days. I can't wait to get started.

Re: 1966 C10 Stepside Build: Project 66 C-06

Got her torn down and sent to the media blaster a couple days ago. I have some patching to do in the floor, one door and at the bottom of both fenders...when she gets back the patch work and primer will be done. Rear came in along with the Boyd tank, radiator, kore 3 rear brake stuff and a bunch of other resto parts from dreamers hot rods. Column came in and looks sweet!!!!

Re: 1966 C10 Stepside Build: Project 66 C-06

just a few updates.... Got quite a bit done on my R&R. I'm back overseas for a bit so I figured I'd post up the progress made while I was off...

on the way to the media blaster. If anyone needs to get anything blasted in the DFW area, problast of Dallas is awesome and very VERY affordable. They have several different medias and also do mobile blasting. They used crushed glass and soda for my truck.

Re: 1966 C10 Stepside Build: Project 66 C-06

Prime Time...Luckily a buddy of mine that works for Crowne Custom Hotrods in Rockwall is using his free time to do the work on the side for me.It's money in his pocket and a top notch job for a reasonable price. He treated the metal and then used a self etching primer to keep it from rusting in the mean time.

Re: 1966 C10 Stepside Build: Project 66 C-06

picked up a set of LS3 heads that will be getting a nice port and polish job along with a set of comp high lift springs to go with the cam. Also picked up with the heads included a pro comp 90mm drive by cable throttle body. I sent my iron 6.0 ls block to the machine shop a couple weeks ago. It's getting re-machined in preparation for a 408 stroker....cant wait to get back!!!

Re: 1966 C10 Stepside Build: Project 66 C-06

Looking great bro - can't tell you how jealous I am that you are in primer already - started putting the engine in mine and I'm not clearing the rack and pinion so I'm waiting on Porterbuilt to send me some tabs to change the motor mount locations a little more to the rear - looking great. The pile in your yard looks familiar - I'm in one of these nice developments were the guys do don't any of their own yard work never the less their own work on their trucks - don't think they are terribly impressed with my "pile" of parts lol

Dude!
Gotta tell ya first, thanks for serving!
Secondly, I feel kinda ADD. You are shooting-off in so many directions at the same time, I can hardly stay focused!
I'm sure that it will all come together though.
I really think that you need to look for a fleetside box for a bad-ass pro-touring look..IMO!

Don't be jealous, there is still a ton of body work to be done. I just had to get primer on it to keep it from rusting. Is it the pulleys or the oil pan that isn't clearing? The city complains all the time about having projects out there. I can't stand it. I told them one time they can tell me what to do on my property when they start paying my mortgage...

With my situation I kinda have to be ADD but it is well organized ADD lol. I usually only have 30 days to work on the truck so I have to get as much done at a time that I can. While the body was getting blasted I was sourcing a motor and waiting on my porterbuilt parts. When the body got back I sent it to get primed and got the motor machined. Hopefully when I get back I'll be working the frame over with the new porterbuilt stuff while the cab and bed are getting patch panels and body work at the hot rod shop. I'll be assembling the motor when the frame is done and Robert at the hot rod shop will be fitting the body on the frame while I'm doing the engine and trans. A lot going on but its well orchestrated, lol. I think I'm going to stick with the step side bed as it's a pro-touring not pro-street truck...
