Re: why?

$20,000 worth of receipts don't always mean you got the best.
Not exactly what I would have done (okay, not even close), but to each his own.
I like the color. I really do.
Funny, the description even makes sure you know it has functional wipers.

Short version.....
Coming at you, you get a knot in your stomach...anticipating a killer truck...
After it passes, that knot expells itself onto the parkinglot in a violent spew of last night's pasta salad.

Re: why?

I think they were trying to achieve that "I'm a dumbass" look. Seriously though, I can appreciate the countless hours that went into a project like that.

Wait a minute...I have a welder, some log chain and a can of silver spray paint. I'll let you know what I come up with!

Re: why?

I LOVE it to each his own Im sure every one can set at a computer and gripe about something some one else did. The thing is there is there is no other truck out there that looks like his he had a vision and he built it. His vision is not the same as every one else. If every ones vision where the same we would all drive ford

Re: why?

The builder/owner had a vision for what they thought would be dazzling, and went for it. I respect that. As a package it might not be what I would have done, but there are some aspects of the truck that has given me some ideas for my own truck.

Yeah, some ideas of what NOT to do. Sorry, my opinion, may not count for much but I'm entitled to it.

If my vision of a good looking truck looked like this, I'd go have my eyes checked...

Re: why?

And BTW, imagine what the bid would be on a unmolested truck in the same condition. I wonder if he'll throw the 65 first place trophies

Re: why?

While I can appreciate all the effort that went into making it what "is", I don't find it aesthetically pleasing. (How's that for PC )

Well, there is a lot to look at and it certainly makes me smile. Of course, I think that a chrome air cleaner is "custom".

Re: why?

I'm sorry guys, but the question was "Does anybody like this?" and if I am going to answer that question truthfully, not me. Sorry, call the Politically Correct police if you must, but that truck is not pretty. I fully envision Cheech and Chong pimpin' this through downtown L.A. with about 50 lbs. of "Blond Lebanese Hash" between the seats. And for the record, I would rather have someone tell me honestly that they don't like my taste in trucks than to lie to me to make me "feel good". ...........................Bamm!

I agree...some judge at a local show 'n shine told me they thought I was an idiot for putting a 396 in my old S-10 and they hated it.

So I said "Thanks for bein honest bu uh....**** you, its mine and I like it"

But in all reality I hated it, I couldnt keep it running longer than a week at a time.

Re: why?

My old dad told me "ifn you dont have nothin good to say, dont say nothin at all".....but I never did listen! You guys are a bunch of critics......if it aint stock, you gotta slam it. Now I will say for sure that the chop was a little short for my taste, but you need to respect the work that went into that ill bet at least 1/2 of the critics are 1/2 my age, & never touched custom work like that (Ill be 50 this year), & you guys are allready hardset in your veiws.....wait till you are my age.....I hope you all mellow out some! Im not here to say whats right/wrong with a build, as there are many ways to do the same old truck. What I am saying is OPEN your minds to the next guys build(even if you dont agree with it), as chances are it was not built for YOU! Off the soap box....... L

Re: why?

I just threw up a little in my mouth.

There's a purple '71 that has been chopped that runs around in this area. What I don't get about it is with all the work they put into it to modify the cab they painted over all the firewall, sill and door rust. Looks decent from 50 feet until you start to see all the bondo and rust bubbles.

To each their own I guess.
