Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

nice work Tom! Glad someone is taking the time to make all these cool little upgrade kits as well as resto the clusters. Hope business is booming - great products.

I'm not in the market for one of these just now - but for folks just joining the board and wondering, etc - Tom is great to deal with and a good friend - he's helped me out in my own dash restos since I like to tinker with them myself. He provided some hard to find parts for a tach conversion and I'd buy any of his products in a heartbeat.

Thanks again and Merry Christmas!

Re: Volt Gauge Conversion Kits

I'm interested in a setup to use the stock gauge. Is it $65 as well?

Hi Steve,

You would like the "amp" gauge face on the volt gauge so it looks stock?

Yes, they are also $65.00

Thank you for the interest,
Tom

I think post no. 1 shows the wiring you are asking about.

Are you good with it now or do you need more help? Yes, the photo in post #1 shows how to wire the volt gauge. You are basically using power and ground from the temp gauge which comes from the ignition switch through the pink wire.

The most important thing about this I need to stress is removing power to the circuit board for the amp gauge for those of you who still have there factory amp gauge in place.

There are several ways to do it. You can fold back the circuit board like in my photo or cut it. I would also, if you have the cluster out, remove the #1 and the #12 wires from the cluster connector and tape them off, as well as remove the (2) 4 amp fuses under the hood.

The volt gauge will work as long as it has battery voltage and a ground as shown in post one. How you get that power is up to you but piggy backing of the temp gauge is the easiest, cleanest way to do it.

Please feel free to ask any questions as they come up.

Take care,
Tom

Tom, Installed the kit today. Very easy and straight forward. Great addition to my after market wiring harness. Nice to see the charging system working with a quick glance. This is one nice kit! Thanks, Lee

Hi Lee,

Thank you very much for the purchase and the compliment. You have one of my favorite trucks on the forum here. Not to take away from others but your truck just has it going for me and I love the torque thrust D's on it.

I am glad you like the kit.

Take care,
Tom
