Autumn morning at the farm where Sierra works. Its a pretty special place. They have a smaller running farm, provides after school care, helping children in many ways. So peaceful.. even with little people everywhere.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I'll have to hunt around for the picture, which may be a lost cause. I was running the gun range at a Boy Scout camp and was walking down to the Gumper for some relief when I came upon a baby rattlesnake. It was all coiled up when I saw it, and I called up to the people on the range to quick bring a camera to get a picture.. It might have been 10" long. I took the picture and then walked around it, and let it go its own way. When I told the ranger about it later, he asked where it was. I just said that, "It's out there somewhere getting lunch."

My Wife was out bird watching this spring and came across a bull snake trying to act tuff. [edit]...OOPS ...I just thought about this one is not one I took, I can't follow instructions. (It was on my camera.)

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I spent a summer during college working at a lodge in Port Alsworth, Alaska. I helped fuel and load a small fleet of planes, shuttle hunters and fishermen and their gear around town, and did all kinds of maintenance work around the place. This C-46 would bring us 1,000 gallons of av-gas each week. The pilot would buzz the half-mile gravel runway at full speed just above ground to let everyone know he was coming. Then he would turn around and land at a much slower speed. When we saw him coming we would stand at the end of the runway and let him buzz right over. Then back to clearing the big rocks off the runway, or cutting firewood. Good times...

Thanks. That third bldg in the first set and last in the second set was an old mill that has since been let to tumble. It's a shame the people did nothing to preserve it. The road literally squeezes between it and a barn in a single lane Z. Hook that first corner and you are going in the creek if you don't cut hard left. That red building is on the other side of the creek. The mill was on your right, barn straight ahead, and the house up to the left across from the mill. That house was built on exposed bedrock

The aerial photo is up the creek another couple miles. This summer they took that creek that meandered through the meadow (sunken banks), by passed it, and created a new bed with sloped banks and special designated cattle crossings. I guess it was some funded project maybe to do with erosion control. Big project. But I'm glad I have that before shot.

The hornets had begun a capital improvement project... On my front porch!!

My new friend that I met this summer.
He turned 100 in July- check out the plate on his van. He landed on Utah beach- lots of stories.
His favorite way to mess with people is when they ask what year he was born, he says “nineteen”. They reply “yes, nineteen what?” He keeps repeating “nineteen” until they get it

What I've been up to-- working, wrenching, railfanning, model railroading, boating, reorganizing, boating, and more!

Hanging with my dog Cinnamon is always fun. She's my adventure buddy.

I mostly scratchbuilt the Norfolk & Portsmouth Belt Line tie crane model, a 1:87 replica of the real thing! The car with the load of ties on it is motorized and propels the track gang down the line.

He's got five years on my dad if he was still here. He's seen a lot of changes for sure.

I should do a photo. This was in PA not too far from the Susquehanna R. along Swatara Creek which has an old canal. So this was a warehouse along the canal. It was an electrical contractor's shop

Wow!!!!!
Thanks for sharing!!!

Reminds me of story I read on the internet, hope it's true. An American had landed in France in an airplane. Got off, was doing all the legal stuff to be in that country on his trip. An impatient Frenchman was getting snotty with him, he could not find his passport in all he belongings. The American kept looking and looking, still couldn't find it. The Frenchman spewed at him "You KNOW you have to have your passport!!!" The American stopped looking through his belongings, and humbly told the Frenchman, "The last time I was here, I didn't need a passport......" So Mr. snotty Frenchman asked him, "When was that?" THe American replied, "June 6th, 1944"
