My first thought was deed restrictions, also. I live right across the street from the neighborhood yard nazi and he turns people in for all manner of violations. And he would never stop to talk to those he turns in.

Follow the advise to take down his plate number. I would even follow him home to ask WTF.

Make up a fake coil wire with a piece of vacuum hose and two old wire ends. It'll drive someone crazy tryin to figure that one out.

I have caught people WALKING ON MY PARENTS PROPERTY taking pictures of mine and my dads trucks. They were from the town. People complained we had too many vehicles on our property. Personally, they can kiss my a$$. We have 10 acres and 3/4 of our vechiles are sitting on a gravel pad we made behind a row of pine trees....NOT visible from the road. People from the state or town usually drive white vehicles, and they aren't usually cavaliers. Around here they have corsicas and ford tempos. I'd start putting my truck in the garage, and a 12 gage helps deter theft as well....

Any progress on the suatiation(sp).. If the truck is not a daily driver I would jack it up and put it on blocks(no wheels/tires) and pull the drive shaft untill you get this figured out..

just to inform you of the downside of a hidden ignition switch. If you forget that you turned it off and crank for awhile you can load up your exhaust pipes with gas. When you finally realize what you did, switch it on and crank you can blow half your exhaust off. My dads done this before. And his boss. and some guy in a super beatle, but that time was cool because a flame shot about 5 feet outta the pipe. heheheh

In the mid 90's I bought a Pontiac Fiero, I was sitting outside the Local Casino and some Oriental Dude started taking pictures, But it wasn't that he was doing it but how.. I almost ran over him backing out then pulling forward,He just kept snapping pictures. I followed him around town for about 40 minutes, finally he decided he better drive to the CopShop, That suited me well.. He gets out of his truck and runs inside, I followed him. To make a long story short, the car used to be his, He sold it to my EX-Son-in-law without getting all of the money for it at that time. So the dumb ass decided to follow me??? The Sargeant told him that following me and taking pictures constituted Harrassment and Stalking and that I could file a complaint. I didn't, I gave him the ex son in laws address and phone number.

But if your guy comes around again, Follow him at a safe distance, If he doesn't get scared and drive to the CopShop, then you call them Via Cell, and have him pulled over to find out what the Idiot's doing..

New Lenox....I think that's somewhere north of me. Welcome to the boards from Gridley (another nice little town ), in central illinois. Don't put anything past people, I left my truck unlocked once and had 2 holley 660 center squirters stolen, and I live in a "village" of 1300 people. I've also had my cell phone and wallet stolen, with my car 5 feet from the back door of the house. So it can happen, just be careful. I'd look at putting a kill switch in the truck somewhere, or maybe taking the battery out if that's not too much of a hassle, or even just take the coil wire off (if it still has points). Best of luck to you.

I, too, think you are worrying about nothing. Why would he come back again to take more pics? He probably just likes your truck. Next time you see him out there, just say hello nice and friendly, even if it is to let him know you have seen him. I have an old Porsche and people stop all the time to take pics. I've never even considered theft motives. When ever I go out, they just want to talk about the car.

From experience, don’t do anything STUPID so he sues or acts against you first get his plate number and/or pictures of him and his car. Disable the ignition by pulling the coil wire and removing it from the truck. Do not just unhook one end its to easy and predictable. It never hurts to contact the police and show them the pics and discuss your rights. In some states you can use deadly force when you are confronted with a car jacking scenario. Be smart be safe

They actually do make a shock pad that roles out on the hood of your car. When a cat jumps on it it shocks'em good. I've seen it and it's pretty damn funny.

Can you time his "slow-down" to this thread's creation? If so, I'd wonder if he monitors this board. BTW, have you ever posted pics of your truck with your city/town listed?

If you do get a pic of him in his car post em here. We'd all like to see what the dufas looks like. He may not be back but ya never know. You could put a for sale on the truck and that may draw him in. However it would also draw in a bunch of others too!

Maybe he was just checkin' out your truck? I think that my behavior could look suspicious at times also when I check out peoples trucks. Sometimes I even circle the block and come around again for a second look, stopping in the street for a longer look if there is no traffic. But, he could always be someone up to no good, so always stay alert.

Another possibility is that it could be the police. A day or two after my kid had an interaction with the law (He was stealing political signs from someones front yard as a joke - horrible crime huh) a car came by at night and took a picture of the front and back of my Suburban which he had driven. It was a plain SUV. I followed it and it parked at the police station and a uniformed cop got out. He had driven his own car and taken pictures of my truck. For a report or who knows what! Probably trying to come up with a new way to harrass a 17 year old.
