Re: 73-87 Pillar Pod final questions

To mount to a bare a-pillar, get driver's side a-pillar trim from the junkyard and trim the top off above the gauge pod. Mount to your a-pillar with screws like factory.

Re: 73-87 Pillar Pod final questions

I say go with an autometer gauge size but if you can offer a disk or plug that can be trimmed for smaller gauges it would be the best of both worlds, not every one is looking for 3 gauges so if you had a cover or plug for the guys just running 1 or 2 gauges thats can be trimmed for the guys with smaller gauges......something to think about?

i personally love the 3 gauges and would use them all I already have 2 gauges on my dash and want another lol

They are about 6-8 weeks out right now before they will be available. Hopefully they are working on tooling right now.

Re: 73-87 Pillar Pod final questions

To accommodate everyone's size, I would make the face solid and have a pilot hole in the center pre drilled like the size of a thumb tack and then gather the popular gauge sizes and include plastic discs so the user can selct the size and cut it out themselves. Also leads to making mistakes and repeat customers

I really like this idea. I have some nice Milwaukee hole saws that I can drill with. It would also alllow me to run a light or switch in place of a gauge

I sure hope this is going to bu under $50

Re: 73-87 Pillar Pod final questions

As of this weekend this is the Triples mounted in the truck. There are 2 injection points on the part that serve really well for a screw location, I also opted to put the 3rd screw at the top inside edge. These are #8 Trim screws. I am looking for source bulk in the correct length, but for now I just trimmed them to fit. I highly recommend using screws to secure these. I made them to fit all models but it was a compromise for the 73-80 style as it has slightly more tension on it, these will require screws.
Pictures is the pod mounted on a 81-87 a-pillar. Right now we are working out the minimum order and pricing, once that is out of the way it should be a matter of weeks before they are available.

As always feedback is welcomed.

Re: 73-87 Pillar Pod final questions

Here they are textured and painted and installed in my R10 Driver (rolling advertisement)

This is the first one out of production with our site URL and part number. Expecting them to be available end of January. Solved the boxing/packaging and working on the hardware.

Re: 73-87 Pillar Pod final questions

Hey Chris, it looks like this thread and another one are periodically being updated. Are we still looking to have these pods by the end of January? I would be willing to "pre-order" if you want to set this up on the site??
