Re: 70c10
Thanks! That was my first time actually taking pictures with a actual good camera. I want to start doing photography, I liked how those turned out a lot.

Re: 70c10
So I have a little update for you guys. I took out the crappy bed liner that was in my truck and everything looks great. Idk if I listed this in my other post but around 4 years ago my dad put new brakes/shocks/springs on the front and rear. There is no rust on the frame though. Everything looks really good under there. Ill try to post a few pics I took with my phone.

Re: 70c10
Always good to see a solid frame/chassis when you look underneath! I like the extra gauges and floor shifter too. Gives it that FAST look!

Lol, thanks man. I like my steering wheel. It's aftermarket and fits in rather nice. A lot of people think it's OEM.

Re: 70c10
Haven't really seen it yet! Could barely see in one of your vids looks like a four spoke black plastic/leather out of a 90's chevy truck. Pic?

Re: 70c10
I'll get you a pic when I get back from camping man! It may be from a 90's truck, that's around when my dad put it on probably. Everything that has been done to this truck was done by my dad. He use to build a new motor every weekend, and drive it with a v6 to work all week for gas millage. He has some sweet stories from his high school drag racing years.

Re: 70c10
Haven't really updated in awhile for you guys, I've been busy with high school. I've moved my truck around the yard a few times, so that's good news that it'll move. I've also figured out that me and my dad are going to be getting a parts truck with a good motor and tranny to put in my truck while we rebuild the 355. So if you no anyone around Georgia that has a v8 that runs with a good tranny for sale please let me no. I've looked around some, but nothin really good. I would really like to find a truck that has a manual transmission to put mine back to manual and just swap all of the linkages and all that good stuff over to mine. That'd be nice...

Re: 70c10
More to come soon... It has been awhile. I've had a few health issues that has set me back and I am also now homeschooled. So I guess I will have more time to work on the truck. Me and my dad are rebuilding the 355 and may put it back to manual as it was originally. The truck is very dirty as I haven't been able to touch it in awhile. I really got out if it, but hopefully we will have things very soon.

Re: 70c10
Nice truck! wish I had that for a first vehicle. That looks like a real clean truck to start with, but your diagonal pictures are making my neck hurt. keep the pics coming, but maybe hold the camera a little straighter.

Re: 70c10
Looks like a solid truck man. My dad bought my truck for me when I was about 11. A little young to own my own truck, haha. I'm now 18 and I started a complete restoration the summer of 2010. Its been a ton of work and I still can't drive it but there's something about looking at something that you've poured tons of time and money into and knowing that no one else is gonna have something like it. Looking forward to seeing progress on your truck. Don't give up on her, you'll be glad you didn't. And on the drop question, there are a ton of ways you can lower the ride height. You can buy drop spindles and springs or you can cut coils of your stock springs. Drop springs are definitely the nicer way to go but cutting coils off will still get the job done, just not as nice.

Re: 70c10
Dad told me he is going to try helping me pull the motor in a week or two. He works a lot so it can be hard to find time for this thing.

Re: 70c10
We are putting it in the building in a day or two. Then all I should need is plugs, and my carb cleaned out/new one. We hope we dont have to rebuild the motor yet, there is a chance I have a burnt valve, lets just hope thats not the case. My cab has a few leaks from the drip rails, so we are gonna have to do something about that.... |

Re: 70c10
Block, heads and crank are at the machine shop. Block is getting cam bearings, freeze plugs and cylinders honed. Heads are getting rebuilt, and crank is getting spun. I think thats what you call it.
Anyways, got a 2200 stall for 50 bucks. Got new bearings , rings, gaskets on the way. Got cam and lifters also on the way. 502 lift and 488 duration I believe are the specs. Not sure if I poster before but the heads are 327 double hump heads off a corvette and its a Camaro block 70-73 Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 70c10
Love the pics! Again, I love the story and how this truck has the family history.

Re: 70c10
Thanks! My grandma bought it in 84, I think for around 3500. my dad was 14 at the time and fell in love with it. When he turned16 my grandma still owed 2500 bucks on it and didn't like the fact it was 4 speed so she was going to sale it. My grandpa gave dad around a grand to give to her and dad payed it off by cutting grass and working at a dairy.
