Re: Any Dash Ideas
I didnt finish because I was sidetracked working on the 'burb and still havent started the big rebuild on the pick-up. The trucks both run, so I want to enjoy them.

Noticed I changed the mileage to 0, and added white face stickers.

Re: Any Dash Ideas
Ummmmm
I just did this... When I added up the cost of the gauges... etc. it wasn't much more, and wiring was unbelievably easy... saved a lot of time... especially everytime I have to remove it an put it back.. one ribbon cable.. oh and no problem in the sun... and dim works perfectly with lights...

Re: Any Dash Ideas
SSman that looks awesome!!. I love to busy, aircraft look. Thats kinda what Im after. October street rodder issue no.10 volume 37 has some aluminum work in it. Fellow made door panels and trans tunnel out of .063 aluminum with the smooth aircraft rivets holding everything together. Wanted that look on my dash, along with the bomber guages i mentioned at the beginning of the thread.
But like I said, very cool ssman. One more thing, how did you configure your trans to shift auto or manual, soft or firm? Never seen that before... not on older vehicles anyways...

Re: Any Dash Ideas
Guys,
as far as the manual shift and soft and firm shift... I have a 4L80E (electronic overdrive trans ) with a program that allows me to go into manual mode at the flip of a switch and use the paddle shifter on the steering wheel. I can use the Locar shifter for just beating around but when its time to race or play i just flick the switch and i'm in manual shift mode. I have multiple programs in my laptop for the trans so i load in a mild AND a race program . When i want it, have a hard race style shift and for everyday driving it I use the mild shift.... I do Have a spare dash bezel without the alky and methanol lights. Uses a vintage A/C controller. I want to put the bomber gauges in it but I keep telling myself "its a daily driver! " .. where do we all draw the line? DAMN ! its a sickness !!!! See Ya ! Steve |

Re: Any Dash Ideas
my best friends family owns a cabinet shop so when i decide to make a fully custom dash i'm going to make mine with thin wood, and put countertop on it, or custom paint it.

Re: Any Dash Ideas
Hey Stinger 99 no prob. I always like the aircraft style, lots of switches, bomber guages, bomber seats in the older hot rods, stuff of the such. I see youre brand new here. Welcome aboard from Florida!!!
