Re: Custom Autosound USA 630

I bought one and it sucks! Took it out and I'm gonna throw it away. I'll never do business with them again!

Re: Custom Autosound USA 630

I guess my truck is magical...or the stereo was made by a 12 year old that day instead of a 5 year old 4 years and still crankin out the tunes. I did not want to cut my dash, and this presented a great alternative.

To get rid of the crappy looking faceplate, I dremeled off their logo as well as the chrome bowties all around it. Painted it to match my dash, and it looks great! My other truck has a rebuilt factory am/fm radio and speaker along with a new antenna, and while it looks all pretty and original, as soon as I fire up the truck and start driving you can't hear it anymore.

I agree 100%. Watts at the RCA outputs are nothing to be excited about. Check the volts. I believe they are low. If you are going to run an amplifier, then you have to have a clean signal to start with; if it isn't, then your $600 component speakers are going to sound like crap. If you are going to tie the speakers directly to the head unit they will probably sound OK with a high quality entry level set. Just my two cents worth, but I still have my audio bug, and if it doesn't sound like I want it...just pull it out and state with something better. LOL

Bummer...I have heard you can convert them to work with an Ipod or Mp3 player too. I think I saw a thread on here where someone actually did it. That would be the ticket, if you could also get it to work with a modern set of speakers. OG old school look, with modern electronics!
