Re: ?? Question, please enlighten me 67-72 SWB Fleetside Mexico Truck? **

After some DMV online research, seems like an easy deal to title and register here in California. It is already here (US), but has yet to be titled or registered...

can you import that truck and register it up from Mexico? I know that they built for years the "old" VW Beetles there, but you could not import them to the US..

Question Re: ?? Question, please enlighten me 67-72 SWB Fleetside Mexico Truck? **

As a Canadian I noticed the speedometer is kms instead of mph. Cool looking.. I wonder how easy it would be to get into the US?

I'd like to have that truck
I would just pull in to a big cruz in park it and get out a lawn chair , the amusement of watching people try to figure out what it is would be fun

Re: ?? Question, please enlighten me 67-72 SWB Fleetside Mexico Truck? **

I was in Brazil in july of 1995 and saw many very unusual cars and trucks, and Several crazy looking SUVs. I've got some pics somewhere of a truck that was brand new at the time, but was a 69 ford body. The thing was a short bed...2 door.. crew cab, with a stubby little bed that had a fiberglass lid from the factory. It was running a turbo 4cy diesel. And The owner who was wealthy by brazilian standards, said it had cost him around 40K....Yeah that's what I said. Would definetly make the local car show interesting if we could get some of these things imported.

This truck is here, in California, and owner wants 3K....high price in comparison to similar condition trucks that are US sold, but the bed, gauges, etc make it unique....just not sure if 3K unique..lol

Re: ?? Question, please enlighten me 67-72 SWB Fleetside Mexico Truck? **

[QUOTE=special-K;3468643]I believe the trucks were either shipped piggy back cab & chassis or in pieces.Either way the beds were made south of the border.I believe these trucks originate in Brazil and distributed throughout South and Central America.I lost picture files a while back and haven`t gathered any of these since.i`m sure someone has more pictures. We`ve had a member or two from South America who shared several pictures. He showed trucks hopped up with wheels, pipes, and paint, etc.

Check these out:

Based on the text, look like this could have been the first generation "Avalanche" I would love to read the text in the other pictures

Hey special K, perhaps you can get me a JPG that i can translate for everyone else to enjoy?
