Re: Jesses' 48 PU
I removed the suspension, flipped the chassis over so i could weld the underside of the frame. Took me longer then expected, welded small pieces inside the frame for support. Tack welded the last pieces to box it in, but was tired and quit. Will take some good pics later.

I finished boxing in the frame. Since i flipped the frame, i only took close up pics of the under side of the frame. Next step, box in the frame in the rear so i can fit the Explorer leaf springs. Posted via Mobile Device

Affordable on CL did mine. The blast and primer was good for the price. I think he posted my frame to his site.

Re: Jesses' 48 PU
Jesse,
The clip is looking good and I agree with Russell Ashley on the blasting thing. Been there done that and never again.lol Its just too much of a headache and worth paying someone else to do it. |

Re: Jesses' 48 PU
thanks Bam, slowly but surely i will get there. I will start working on the rear end this weekend. Im boxing in the rear of the chassis and getting crafty and creative with the Ford Explorer leaf springs that I scored on Craigslist for 60.00 (complete with all hardware and shock mount plates).
once im done with that its off to having it sandblasted (after the advise received) ill pay the 175.00. Dont need anymore sand, heck still cleaning sand from my crack from my tour in IRAQ. (LOL) Already ordered the primer/chassis black kit from Eastwood.

Re: Jesses' 48 PU
Thanks Rollinrooster, yea, ive decided to pay to have it done, so It should be done by this time next month.
Meanwhile, im a bit excited, i just scored these wheels and tires for 300.00 from a fellow hotrodder named Tony, he posted them on craigslist was nice enough to drop 50.00 bucks off the asking price, he also has a friend who will help me shorten my rear end.
