Re: Which Optima Battery....
Red top is for cranking.
Yellow top is for running accessories. Blue top is for marine use. If it is for just cracking up your truck, use red. |

Re: Which Optima Battery....
I don't run Optima batteries. These lead "acid" batteries work just fine! I wonder what they mean by "acid"?

Re: Which Optima Battery....
I am on my 2nd red top in 3 years... I bought is for my yota which sits way more than I drive it and the battery has just started doing what the other on did and drains it self.. I have nothing hooked up to the battery its just sitting in the truck and it still goes dead. This battery is only 6 months old. The diehard in my blazer is awesome I have had to replace it out of warranty and sears hooked my up with another one free of charge... With that said the optima is going back to les schwab monday to get fixed, replaced,or set on fire...

Re: Which Optima Battery....
I've got a red top Optima battery that has been in my truck for almost 4 years now with out any problems at all.
Lead acid batteries are great until they puke all over your vintage sheetmetal.

Here's an excellent, interesting article on "recombinant gas" batteries written by an aviation guy. Most light aircraft are flying around with plain old lead-acid batteries, just like cars. |
