Re: Weird Door Sensor Problem.
I tried WD-40 in the lock area but am still having problems. I guess I could take the assembly out and clean it up, but I'm thinking that I'd be better off just replacing the assembly. Anyone know if it's straightforward to do on an '05 (Suburban Z71) and the part number by chance?

Re: Weird Door Sensor Problem.
Haven't been on the site for a while. I have since sold the truck, but the last I talked to someone it seemed like it was a BCM issue. Never really wanted to deal going that far into it so I just dealt with it. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Re: Weird Door Sensor Problem.
Actually since about a week after the WD-40, I haven't had problems. I think it needed to soak in and expel the moisture? In any case, I didn't even noticed that it was fixed until finding this thread again.

Re: Weird Door Sensor Problem.
I never sent or received PMs, just shot some WD-40 into the latch assembly and that seems to have expelled whatever moisture was in the latch.

Re: Weird Door Sensor Problem.
This problem can be caused by a power window and door lock switch. Especially the one in the driver's door.
For example, on my 3500 crew cab, when the window switch was damaged, the door locks acted up, it gave messages that a door was open, the dome light functions when the doors opened and closed were all screwed up, and the retained accessory power function was not working. It seems damned near every door related function goes through the door lock and window switches. On my crew cab, for example, everything except the door speaker works through the master power window/power door lock/power mirror switch, including the driver's door switch and the seat heater. |

Re: Weird Door Sensor Problem.
I know I will get blasted for saying this, but...... a F150.
Before I get drilled too much just know that it was my dad's truck, and I was able to buy it from my stepmom when he passed away. So it's very sentimental, aside from the fact that I do like it a lot more than the 03 GMC. I do however have another Trailblazer SS |

Re: Weird Door Sensor Problem.
It's another black one. 07 2wd. This makes our third one so far. We had the black 06 that you remember us having, this one is just like that essentially. In between we had a 06 silver AWD one. Still regret selling it, but we were trying to be sensible. We also had another Mustang in there along the way.

Re: Weird Door Sensor Problem.
Fixed the problem!!! When I installed the door ajar sensor, the direcrion were not right. I had to adjust the little gear that shows the door shut. Once I did this, no more door ajar.
