Actually, I've been thinking to go with... I never tell, but I'll let you know when someone else does it!  Mark, '67 goes with no surround and with that had you can do that. Any year can as long as the old hood and header panel are used. '68 had silver painted for a more subtle look. Painting my headlight bezels black in the inset tones it down while giving a meaner more aggresive performance look, IMO. That grille with a 67/68 hood with no surround would just be right and left smaller surrounds with a bar in the center (2 bars R & L)

My 68 was a cheapo with painted grille and it didn't have any hood or fender eyebrow trim

I did a google and bing image search. Personally I like em better without the hood and fender edge trim. I even like the painted ones, but mine is way to nice to paint (sacrilege lol) but I will be removing the surround trim. Ill save it for a Chevy.

Hey Allchevy58 can you tell me what the paint code and number are on your 72 GMC? I have a 70 model that says "special paint" and it looks like the same color.

This is my '70. When I bought it I was looking for a 71/72 chevy 4x4 because those have always been my favorite of the 67-72's, but this truck caught my attention. I was on the fence about whether I'd keep the GMC front or not but it has grown on me a lot.
