I'm in love with that truck! If you ever dont want it, I have a spot in my yard for it...

I have SO many pics of the older "Brigadier" style GMC's and Chevy's.

Also, what makes you think 6.2's are hard to maintain? They are a piece of cake! I own one and my dad has owned em and my uncle has owned em and still owns some. I love em! They are so simple. I'll be building a close to 300hp one in the next 1-3 years. Sorry, I'm getting too excited. Diesel and trucks are my love.

eh, i dont like how sensitive they are to air or moisture within the fuel. that is the biggest thing i don't like. plus the early 6.2's had weak blocks and crack easily. they do have many advantages tough. that gmc isn't too bad for a freebie though. i'm going to see if i cant find out for sure what motor it has tomorrow. its pretty powerful but i have not driven a lot of trucks ThAT big so i don't have much to compare it to.

Hello. 67 C 30 is correct about how to ID the specific cu. in. of the engine. In the bigger GMCs and Chevs - at least in 69 - the ones with two speed rears and V6 often had the bigger cu. in. engines.

Here is a picture of my 69 C80 Chev with a little over 10K miles on the 478 cu. in. V6. This is one tough engine - I will NEVER wear it out - nor will the next owner, and the truck is a brute.

Thanks for the good reading guys, and the pics...They are just toooo cool. The pistons must be the size of beer kegs to get 470 cu. in. outa 6 holes in the block or a short stroke...If they came in 4WD I can see a future project

The 305 and 351's did come in '67 - '69 GMC's. I would love to a 3/4 4X4 with a V6 -4 sp.

BTW, those 478 had 5.125" pistons!

I had to scratch about a 1/8" of crud off the pad to see mine.
