You'd be surprised. When I replaced my worn out cab mounts my cab raised almost 1/2" They "rode" fine, they were just completely squished.
Are all of the bushings/ball joints, etc new?\ I've measured my truck for a drop quite a few times, still haven't done it. She varies from ~1/4"-3/8" from side to side. Those are probably pretty close to the best you'll get. 1.5" is a bit excessive
