gidday mate-you have a great looking truck-i really like the wheels.
interested to know what is under the canopy on the back--if its called a custom camper,has it got beds and things or is it just a bare canopy over the deck area?? see alot of these on here and have never seen whats under there and everyone seems to take them off and get rid of them

Hi Mark! Thanks for the compliment!
The shell covering the bed is just that. A shell. I'll be taking it off soon. I don't like the looks of it at all.
It is called a "Custom Camper" because of options and accessories that improved this truck's performance specifically for a bed mounted camper. The PO of this truck had a bed mounted camper in it and towed his boat on all the family vacations.

Today I replaced the radiator, belts, hoses and relocated the XMSN cooler. I took the bed shell off too. Looks much better.
I'm not too pleased with the replacement radiator I got from Advance Auto. It fit OK but it is much thinner than the original. I did get the four core, but it just looks too thin and not HD. I hope it'll be heavy duty enough for towing in the summer heat of Texas. I tow vintage trailers up to 7,000 lbs.
I would also like to get a larger XMSN pan with a temp bung so I can get a XMSN temp gauge installed. I found this one from Derale on Summit

If you plan on towing the tranny temp guage may be helpful. be sure to add a trans cooler also.

It has an external cooler. I plan to add the temp gauge, but I'm not sure if the deep pans will clear the XMSN crossmember. Looks kinda tight.

I bought an aluminum rad from Ebay, a Champion. it might be an option for you.

Yes, the Scottie is sweet, that's how I got into these trucks....needed a period correct vehicle to tow it with. Airstreams are super cool also.

I got the new (used) tool box compartment door I purchased here on the forum today. It'll need some work, but so does the rest of the truck!
Tomorrow morning I'll be hooking on to our Airstream for the first time. We're taking it a short drive to the lake to go camping with our WBCCI Unit. I'll post some pics of her all hooked up tomorrow.

Here is a pic of Jenny hitched up to Abby at our campsite this weekend.

She is a wonderful tow vehicle. On the way back, I forgot to hook up the trailer cable. I drove back home with no trailer brakes and didn't even notice.
