Re: Let me see your Black Trucks
No, it does not get clear. Unless you use a satin finish clear, it would make the paint shine.

Re: Let me see your Black Trucks
My satin finish is a single stage, Hot Rod Black by Hot Rod Flatz. Like any other finish, it will "spot" if you fail to dry it after a washing. I use Lucas Quick Detailer to keep mine fresh between washings.

Re: Let me see your Black Trucks
This is my truck with a one-step paint job, no cut no polish. Its black but some people ask me if its dark blue, I suppose not being cut and polished could cast a hue. There's my 454SS in base/clear onyx black in the background there too, but cant really tell much about it in this pic.

Re: Let me see your Black Trucks
killthewabbit - had I lowered mine I'd want it to look just like that. Its very sporty. Well, and if it was 2WD...
I wonder if anyone lowers 4WD trucks? |

Re: Let me see your Black Trucks
My buddy's '78 C10. He built it himself from the ground up. Ran low 12s with a built 502, almost 700 hp. We pulled the big block out a while back and dropped in a built small block, just over 400 hp, and still ran low 14s consistently. And much more streetable with the sbc!! Truck flat out hauls ass!! Gets looks everywhere we take it, especially from the five-o

Re: Let me see your Black Trucks
First a thought, then pics of my new '76 in a gloss black (albeit 13 year old repaint with a number of small touchups....)
I'm not sure how the chrome molding package would work with the flat black if its the red/white tutone truck in your avatar... I say this because there is a good bit of extra welding of holes and grinding and such prepping the body for primer and paint involved in deleting that trim... Just something to keep in mind. |
