Got a little more done yesterday. Rear brakes are all done and replaced all the rotten rubber hoses on the gas tank vent lines. It sure is easy to work on everything back there with the gas tank out. Ordered a new rear cv driveshaft from Tom Woods today. Should be here Friday. Surprisingly the front driveshaft will work, the Dana 60 must have a longer snout than the 44. Plan is to get it running this weekend and then take it in for new exhaust on Monday.

Where did you get your rear u-bolts for the 14 blt? Any idea of size and length? That sure looks nice. Let me know how the shackle flip works out for you, I have a DIY 4X one also I am planning on using. Sweet dude!

I had a hell of a time getting the right u-bolts. After Skyjacker sent me 2 sets of the wrong ones I ordered these from Offroad Design but they actually came in a Tuff Country box. These ones have a 3.5" opening and are about 9.5" long. The ones I ordered from Skyjacker were supposed to be a 3 and 3/8 inch opening which is what the 14 bolt axle tubes are. The first set came and they were only about 3 and 1/16". I called them and explained and asked them to please send the correct ones and to measure them before they send them and what do you know, they sent the same damn thing. I had other troubles with Skyjacker as well. Needless to say I'm not too impressed with the way they do business.

Kinda why I asked, still need to get a set for mine. They all offer them, but I want a set that fits the first time. Thank's for the measurements, I'll wait till I set my spring packs in there and do some measuring. Did you have to move your rear spring perches, it doesen't look like it from your pic's. Got a set of weld on perches for mine to maybe help with the pinion angle? Man, gotta get some rocker box/floor rework done before I can rip any further. Your's sure looks good, keep us updated with new pic's please!

I quit depending on the in the box u-bolts a while ago. It never fails they always seem to be wrong. Now I just go have u-bolts made at a few local shops in town.

Here is a good source for the right U-bolts and lots of doit yourself stuff,,they list the sizes and what axel they normaly are used on...
Anyway it is were I got my U-bolts from and they fit perfect.

The town I live in is pretty small so finding anything semi custom is not going to happen. Even the one place I found that could have some made ordered them from someplace else.

I didn't have to move the spring perches. Some of the 14 bolts have them at the correct width for our Blazers. I think it's the ones out of 1 tons and crew cabs but not positive. I think the 14 bolts out of the 3/4 tons have the wider perches. I might have to shim it for driveline angle though.

I was way too busy over the weekend to get any new photos but here are a few of how I fixed the E-brake. The cables coming out of the 14 bolt are about 8" shorter than the stock ones. I had to relocate the brackets down and further towards the rear. I then took a spare cable and extra clips that I had and went down to a local industrial cable supplier and had them make me two 9" long extension pieces. Works good as it is but I might end up getting a new cable the correct length. The Blazer is down getting new exhaust put on today. I'll have some finished photos for everyone in a few days.

It's done! Here's some pictures of the new exhaust and everything else. Exhaust is 2.5" ramhorns with 2.5" pipes into a single muffler and 3" single pipe out. Everything is tucked up nice and neat.

Real nice build. I was wanting to do the 1 ton running gear swap but lost interest with the prices guys were wanting for the 60 fronts in washington. I dont seem to get too lucky with deals anyway LOL. Nice looking Ride man! Have you thought about cross over steering?
