Re: brake bleeding

The star wheel he is referring to is in post #22. It's the adjuster in mid-picture(yellow). If there has been water inside the brake drum it could be rusted together. If so, take it out spray penatrent oil in the adjuster and try to break it loose with two pairs of vice grips. If you can't loosen it replace it.

Re: brake bleeding

I think Poke's on the right track adjusting the rears first. If they have a lot of travel, they will spring back when the bleeders are open in back, and suck air. I see no reason one can't use 4 bleeder bottles and hoses and bleed em all at once. I also don't like pumping the brakes rapidly, I think it makes bubbles in the fluid.
If the rotors are removable by removing the lug bolts, I agree with putting a few lug nuts back on to center the rotors. Sometimes you have to invert the nuts, sometimes you have to put a larger nut or washers under them to take up the space if the threads aren't long enough.
Some of our trucks have a lot of loops in the lines after the master cylinder that tend to trap air.
Stopping the 'ol truck lessens the time you spend in traffic court.

Id be curious to find out what the reasoning is behind this... hey im 45 and am willing to learn anytime.. there was no sarcasm at all in my post
I re-read what I had posted and realized I had made a mistake. I guess I have had too many strokes and get forgetful. It does not apply to these year cars of trucks. It was my mistake My apologees to everyone.
