funny you say that, I was stopped for gas the other day , while i was on my way to deliver my vette to the guy that just bought it, and a guy pulls up in a nice clean blue and grey 86 shortbed chevy truck, we talk for a bit, turned out he just bought it for 600 bucks after it sat in the woods for 2 years cause the guy that owned it, didn't want to replace the ALT . ..LMAO some people , the interior was mint.

I have always liked your truck, now that I see you use it, I love it!

It is proof you can work them and show them!!

Re: What did you get done? Week ending 10-4

I moved a truck-load of stuff between our house and my wife's parent's place on Saturday and also worked on pulling the radiator out of our Bonneville, that sprung a leak on us. Sunday I hit the salvage yard, where I was able to purchase a new radiator and hoses, and also came home with a few used parts:

Got a Stull tube grille for the pickup off of one of the vehicles they took in for the CFC program. A bit of chrome polish and some rubbing and it cleaned up well. It's a different look for the truck, not 100% sure I'm gonna love it on there, but for how little I paid for it, I figure I'll run it for a while, and maybe switch back to the OEM grille for the foul weather this winter.

Also scored some of the metal trim parts from a T-Top Olds 442 that was there, parts that are not repro'ed anywhere to my knowledge. They will work nicely on my Regal should I find that mine are rotten, when I finally get around to installing my new T-Top seals on that car.

Went in the yard there thinking of some other truck parts, but a couple of the trucks I saw the previous weekend had already been flattened in the crusher. While I do find it neat to watch that thing squeeze them, it does seem a shame, as well. . . .

Got the grille installed in the truck late Sunday, and started to clean up all of the spills from my radiator removal. Lost interest partway into that, and left the garage for a while. Figure later this week I'll try and get that radiator installed and get that car back on the road.

Not much with the truck, but with the son.

My son rode his bike with out his Training wheels for the first time over the weekend. It just took him 2 hours to get it and now he is ridding everywhere.

Re: What did you get done? Week ending 10-4

Didnt get much done on the Chevy this weekend. I did go and get my new DD smogged, It passed emissions no problem. But since I replaced the battery recently, It failed. I need to put some miles on it and take it for a re-test. They gave me 15 days.

Now I can start working on blue !!!

Re: What did you get done? Week ending 10-4

In the last two weeks, I have replaced every single electrical switch on the 74 except the back up switch. Installed a new tank selector valve, with fuel filters in between each tank and the valve and of course in between the valve and fuel pump. changed the oil and filter again in the last two weeks, fixed the cig lighter, radio and gotton the truck ready for the hunt this weekend. Topped off both tanks, and am basically ready to go with all the hundreds of pounds of stuff i always take but never use!
