Re: Would a tinted rear window look out of place on my truck?

I'm kind of debating on this for my truck, I've just come across a smoked rear window. I think the lighter, smoked look would be best on yours.

Re: Would a tinted rear window look out of place on my truck?

Here are before and after pics of mine. I dont know what percentage mine is but I got the darkest available. Its not legal here and if it was I would never put the dark tint on my side windows, it seriously cuts down your visibility, especially at night.

Looks better with the tint for sure. So, is your truck like the Mary Kay edition? Lol. Not that I'm one to judge paint lol

Mister B,I don't know if Already Gone will see your question,so I'll just let you know. That is a rare 69 Canadian only special color. It's called Ice Coral Pink and is a factory color. There's a thread on rarest paint colors that has lots of info on colors both factory and IIRC some aftermarket.

BTW Mary Kay could never do something so cool as a classic truck.

The removal of the slider and the step bumper with the solid rear window and sport bumper made a night and day difference on this truck. I like it. I am not sold on the dark dark tint. I think paint color has a lot to do with it.

Re: Would a tinted rear window look out of place on my truck?

Iam going to do 20% on the back and 35% on the sides on mine and a 20% brow. This keeps me legal on the side windows here in Kansas.

35% if I remember correct, 50% was too dark. Keeps my neck from getting sunburned, I'm already enough of a redneck.

Re: Would a tinted rear window look out of place on my truck?

35% is darker than 50%. The rating is based of light transmittancy through the film. For example, 50% tint lets 50% of the light though. 20% tint lets 20% of the light through and 5% would be the darkest only allowing 5% of the light to pass through it.

Re: Would a tinted rear window look out of place on my truck?

Square 78, thanks for setting me straight as I never understood the % thing, shows what I know. I did redo it a couple years ago because the first time I put tint on it was way too dark, couldn't see a damn thing at night.

It gets hot here. Truck's not stock. I like a darker tint. I'm not much of a night driver. The tint on there now looks very different in different light.

Re: Would a tinted rear window look out of place on my truck?

Those flush fit rear windows are sweet. Too bad they dont make a windshield like that.

Re: Would a tinted rear window look out of place on my truck?

Could you use a uv tint? Keeps the heat out but lets the light in. Thinking about doing this on my own truck. Oh yea it does not look like tint.
