Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R

We started by wetsanding the whole interior with 220 grit
Every surface that will get painted
we didn’t take a pic, but we did the door jambs too!
The goal is to have the interior in primer by Friday
It’s a little embarrassing, but we were so focused on the major surgery that we plain forgot about the steering column divot!
Here’s the second and I believe final coat of filler

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R

So the gas filler hole needs one more fill
we welded your brackets to the backside of the firewall, then cut and welded the bolts for a smooth firewall

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R

Then I made a command decision to go ahead and fill the wiring hole;.I’m going to run your wiring through the inner/outer cowl transition panel so it’ll all be hidden
Here’s how we left it tonight. Tomorrow is a long day of sanding and masking the interior!

you're racking up a lot of time in that cab, looks like it'll be well worth it when she comes together

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R

We found a couple dents in the back wall we had to address
The inside has been blown out and vacuumed,,wax and grease removed and masked. We still need to mask around the door jambs, then we’re ready to shoot primer tomorrow!

Here’s the interior, all masked up and ready to prime
Here’s Wyatt laying down primer
The back wall, you can see the factory spotwelds. I was going to upholster a panel to cover the bottom half
Overall of the interior

The left brow needs a little work on the transition to the dash
Overall I am very pleased with the results!

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R

guidecoat applied
We worked on smoothing out those eyebrows today
we also found a dent above the Headlight switch right before primer, so we worked that out
Then we found flaws in the back wall

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R

we finished the day by beginning to build the kick panel speaker pods
We had to open the speaker hole in the rings some, but in the end we got them to fit! Tomorrow we’ll build the sides and wetsand the interior metal in 400

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R

So we worked the dash to make sure everything was smooth
We resprayed and guide coated it in preparation for wetsanding
we cut the whole dash in 400 wet, it’s as perfect as I can make it! We did the dash in 400 because you stare at it constantly. The standard is 220,and believe me it’s a whole lot less time consuming!

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R

The work that was needed on the back wall. The rest of the interior and door jambs will be done in 220.
We then resprayed and guide coated

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R

We did figure out the coil covers though. We have to re-make the left one, screwed up the bead roll.

The transfer of the templates to steel
The mock up of the passenger coil cover, it’s out of position and not fastened down yet
We will be building a center cover, I just need these figured out first

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R

we wound up re-making both coil covers, the bead roll wasn’t as straight as I thought
Here’s the finished product
we primed both sides
Tomorrow we build the intake cover and work on the outside of the cab
