I bought one from GMpartsDirect.com quite a few years ago now, wish I had grabbed a couple more. The fit is perfect and they're "soft".

I think most places were sold out of them several years ago, if that partsgiant place is the only one that has them left... grab 'em now!

Made the phone call, Modern Chevrolet does NOT have these in stock anymore. Looks like everyone will be paying with their first born in the future to get a hold of these. Lol

Looks like GM Parts Giant has them on their website still for $11. I ordered two, unfortunately shipping is the same price as one seal. I shall see if they really have them in stock or not shortly I assume. Lol

Just got an email back from Parts Giant...the item is discontinued as Earnhardt previously said, so my order has been cancelled. Booo!

Yes, it's upside down.

Where did that one come from? I've never seen one that didn't come with the holes already slotted?

Removed mine recently. Little picky about note taking, but it will come in handy 1-2 years from now.

Cowl Panel / Hood Seal:

The seal fits between the inner and outer cowl. The flat portion of the seal faces the top of the inner cowl. There are six screw holes in the seal, and two slots to clear the windshield washer jet brackets.

The cowl panel (a.k.a. outer cowl) mounts to the top of the inner cowl with six Phillips head tapered screws with integrated washers. These screws also hold the seal in place.

The cowl panel also mounts to the inner cowl with four stainless steel screws. The holes for these are nearly parallel of the windshield wiper mounts. These attach using one U-nut each. These screws weren't painted from factory were they?

The cowl panel also mounts with four 1/2" head tapered screws with integrated washers and one fixed nut each. One behind each door, and one on each corner of the inner/outer cowl. The shortest thread was used behind the RH door. I tested one of the longer screws, and it may be too long for this hole (didn't want to force it, why is pending).

Irregulars: There were two washers used for the screw that mounts the cowl panel to the inner cowl on the RH truck side, which was used to raise the outer cowl. This is due to the fender sitting approx. 1/10" too high on the inner cowl.....Why is the RH fender so high? Additionally, the tip on the screw for this was broken.

Spray that thing down with WD-40 and it will help with closing the hood. If after a couple a days and the hood is still a bit high, might be time for new hinge springs...Remember, it's a 45 year old truck, not an Acura!

Do you recommend the springs themselves or the entire hinge? NOS springs/hinges or recommend a good OER?

On a side note, seems to me it's a good idea to cook door weather strip in the sun a while. Same might be said for a cowl seal, though maybe for a shorter time.
