Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Well I've had a few more therapy sessions with the truck. The motor, Trany & T/C are getting close to going back into the chassis. The motor & trany had been completely rebuilt by the PO, although I did partially tear the motor down to check things out, and I also sent the trany out to have it checked out and have the AA short NP205 shaft installed. I then cleaned and painted them the colors that I wanted. I also purchased new urethane motor & trany mounts. I stripped the T/C down to the bare case and completely rebuilt it with all new bearings, seals & gaskets. John ( Grendel ) has been very helpfull in get the parts & contacts needed to pull everything together and in return I'm helping out with his projects.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

I would caution you about investing too much into your current project at this time. My lawyer advised me (yes been there done it) to stop all work on mine as I was making the project higher in value and tougher on me when it came time to pay my out my ex. Your truck in pieces is at it's lowest value at this present time. More then likely your truck will be considered a family asset which will mean 50/50 on the value split.

See, he's working on MY truck. It won't become his for quite a while. I have all the receipts on all of the parts... rebuild kits, engine and transmission doaners, etc.

His truck is a POS that he plows with.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Jaros;

A 33 pounder anywhere in the lower 48 is a respectable fish !!! It took me 2 trips to Alaska to catch a 50. There getting hard to come-by even up there. The big netters just out side the mouth of the rivers are decimating the runs. On the Kenai they have emergency limits or even shut down the sport fishing if the runs are too small. Last yr if I caught that fish I'd have to have let it go, 55" or bigger to keep it.

Anyway a 50 pound fish was my goal to have one mounted, and I got it !!!
Now I have to find a wall big enough for it ! "LOL" My girl friend hates the damn thing, so I told her she needed to be careful or she may end up next to it ! "LOL"

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Looking at the pic's I realized that I forgot to put the magnet back in the bottom of the T/C. I hope I can get it in there through the inspection cover If not I may destroy a gasket or two taking it back apart.

It's easy to see what my favorate beverage is

Well I got the magnet back in the T/C but as I suspected I had to remove the rear cover and destroyed the gasket doing it. ( Don't tell John but I stole a gasket from his kit ) I'll have more pic's to post later.

I'm planning on painting it two tone Hugger Orange and White . Just like this one. No pic's of the body at this time, it's in pieces in the shed, basement and any other place I could find room.
