Man, dipping in acid really brings everything to the light, I would be afraid to have a few the trucks I have done like that for fear they would fall apart, Great Job, looks like a lot of work ahead of you,and I would definitely get some kinda sealer on it dispite the fact its going to be in your garage, the northwest has rain, and that translates into humidity,so it doesnt have to get wet to get the patina thing going.Hate to see you have do double work.

Looks good. Are you planning on redoing it the original color? Was that 2 tone Dark Green & Med. Olive Roof & middle? If so, that is a pretty unusual combo IMO.

I agree too that you should try and seal every possible square inch of metal ASAFP. Eastwood sells some products in their catalog similar to POR 15 that would work well for your situation. They are even available in spray can(although I would use a spray gun).

It was originally a Dark Olive truck with Medium Olive on top only. Somebody later painted white on the roof and in the middle. I plan on painting it a two-tone blue and white.

Dipping is the way to go if you can afford it and can find a place to do it. Really brings out all the rust places that could be missied otherwise. Good job.

It would probably cost around $600 to have it media stripped so this was worth it to me. It gets it so much cleaner.
