Re: Project Slo-Go 67
very little progress too report, but it's progress. Filled the blower motor hole, and made a piece to round off the firewall to match the drivers side. Now i need to get some metal and fill the wire channel.

Are you adding aftermarket A/C is that the reason for the firewall work?

Thanks for the comments Richard. I was skeptical and probably over thought everything at first, now i am over the initial fear and probably will attempt anything once.. yeah right. Thanks again. I may have to ask you about the reskin on the inner SS bed sides, as i will be fixing up the SS we have to try and recoup some $$. Hopefully i can work on it consistently and keep making forward progress. Thanks to the Forum members for making this possible by being there for the motivation, answers and support. y'all Rock

Part of learning is making mistakes and figuring out how to do it different. There isn't a car I haven't worked on and not looked backed and said, "you know, we could have done this or that instead of what we did..." You are more than welcome to send me a PM if you have any ???. I will answer the best I can based on what I know. I welcome you to get a second opinion because sometimes you have to look at it a couple of different ways to figure out the best way for you. Keep up the great work, you are well on your way to a great looking truck. D

Re: Project Slo-Go 67
we powerwashed the '72 crossmember, will buy a engine hoist from northern tools this week hopefully and try to get the crossmember out of the parts truck. then try to plan and yank the motor/trans out of the 67 to do the swap. I was contemplating buying por 15 or just degreasing/powerwashing the 67 frame, and priming with self etch, and chassis black. any suggestions on which route to take?

Re: Project Slo-Go 67
I used this stuff www.nomorerust.com works very well and I applied it with a cheap foam brush. Must have a clean etched surface for any of the stuff to stick well though...

Re: Project Slo-Go 67
ok we made some progress on the parts truck. We removed the springs and trailing arms. and we were also able to get the front crossmember off. now i have to look at the mc/booster and see what it will take to get it off. do you know if the mc/booster and rod will attach to the 67 brake pedal or will i need to take the brake pedal assembly off the 72 and install on the 67? attached are a few pics.
