Re: My build so far
Beautiful pup man! That cab's rough but thank God for patch panels and homemade dollies. How far are you from the Florida/Georgia line?

Re: My build so far
Yea I know it looks bad now but it should make a good one after repaired. My truck was a small back glass. I just had to have a big window cab . The original one was in better shape than this one. I am located northwest of Atlanta.

Re: My build so far
Yeah mine was pretty rough, not as bad but close. Luckily my Grandpa had been parking it under a shelter since he bought it in late 1962. It stayed that way until he needed the space and parked it in a field for 2.5 years before I got it. That greatly took it's toll.

Re: My build so far
I got a little free time so I welded in the bracing for doing the floor repair. The basement does not have the best lighting but maybe you can make out what has been added. Next time I'll push it outside for better pictures.

Re: My build so far
I was looking on craig's list a couple days ago and found a complete serpentine belt set up $75.00. The a/c compressor, water pump, p/s pump, alternator, and all the brackets and bolts. After talking to the seller Wednesday we decided to meet on Saturday. I called him today to set up a time and place and he sold the set up last night. Oh well better luck next time.

Re: My build so far
Dallas is about 30 miles northwest of Atlanta. The skyline of Atlanta can be seen from the town I live in. Which is way too close for me. When we still lived in Alabama, we went to the NHRA Southern Nationals in Millington.

Re: My build so far
We lived in Florence Al. It is in the northwest corner of the state. From my old house it was about ten miles to Tenn. and about thirty miles to Miss.

Re: My build so far
Made some progress on the cab, got all the patch panel installed. The only thing left is the floor pans. A few more welds and the dash will be in place. I'll try to post better pictures later.

Re: My build so far
I noticed you welded in your rockers and cab corners without fitting them to your doors. I hope your doors fit. After fitting my new rockers, I had to start over when I fitted my doors. Even though it seems like the new rockers fit like a glove, I had to drop both sides down about 3/8" to fit the doors correctly. Looks good though, hope it fits.

Re: My build so far
I want it painted one of the factory colors. The choices are dark blue, light green, or turquoise. Which ever color I decide it will be tu toned with the white cab. I'm leaning toward the light green.

Re: My build so far
Today I had a some free time so me, my son Evan, and my brother-in-law rode up to Alan's house. It is amazing how much time and effort has went into his truck. The pictures does not do the it justice. While there I picked a set of side cowl panels. I also got to meet Shannon (sdailey) and got a pair of door panels for Evan '68 swb project. It was good talking both of you and hope we didn't take up too much of your Saturday.

Re: My build so far
Looking good Greg. I wish I could hurry up and get my patch panels replaced. My drip rail is going to cause us some problems, it's not any good metal to weld to when you cut out the old rusted out one. Your truck is coming along pretty good. Later.

Re: My build so far
Thanks Jeff, just waiting to get my cab back home some I can put it on the frame and see how it looks. It has been a long time since it's been that complete. Is your other cab in better shape? I know it is a lot of work to change cabs out but if it's less body work it would be worth it.
