Re: Who wantes to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

I would be willing to pay money for a DVD version of these.

As far molesting the tapes, they are cool to have, but what good are they if they can't be viewed ? Even if the tape did have to be removed from the cartridges, you would still have the cartridges but you would actually be able to view them.

Re: Who wantes to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

I am hoping to get one year on one DVD. The tapes are around 10 minutes each, give or take

Pyrotechnic, I agree completely with you. The tapes are useless to me now, but once converted, I (or we all) can watch them as many times as I like.

Re: Who wantes to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

OK folks, I have an update on this.

I dropped off the tapes today at a somewhat local business that specializes in video transfers. I was told they have indeed converted these types of tapes before, and in fact, may actually have a mini theater in their basement (which I thought was cool). Anyhow, they should have all 12 tapes converted in about two weeks onto 1 DVD. I was given an estimate, that she said was on the high side to be safe because she didn't know how long the film was length-wise, and that total is $376. I know that is expensive, but who else is going to do this right? SO I gave them the go-ahead to convert these.

What does this all mean?

If you are still interested in a copy of this set, then I would like to get at least $15 from each of you who are. If you feel you can do a little more...GREAT, but $15 is the minimum. The $376 price does NOT include the DVD's, shipping cost, my purchase price of the tapes, or my personal time. Your "donation" as I would like to call it, will help keep my out of pocket expense down, and get you a nice little 73-87 gift for yourself.

If interested, my PAYPAL is jeffdodge4827@msn.com

Please be sure to include your board screen name and "DVD" in the description so I know who paid.

A reply here once the money has been sent might be helpful as well.

Done and done.

Everyone remember, we have another set we can convert after this one if everything works out. Let's make sure Jeff doesn't lose any money after we said we'd pitch in!

Thanks Joe!

To clarify. I don't expect to make money on this, or really even break even...I am fully expecting to have some out of pocket expense...but I want to see the final product too so I am OK with that.

Re: Who wantes to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

Hey everyone, thanks! So far you have covered almost a third of the quoted cost....that is a great start!

If we end up having more than we need, I can put it towards converting Joes 1979 set.

Sent my "donation" in as well. I added a little extra because I really appreciate the time and effort that you put into this, and appreciate the offer to be included in on this. Forgot to put my screen name next to "DVD" but my e-mail address is the same as my screen name anyway. Looking forward to seeing the video! ...Joe

Re: Who wantes to see 1973 dealer/promo DVD's?

Got the payments fellas, thanks!

In case you haven't noticed, I have started a list of those who are in on this back in post #1...I'll update as more people join in.

Is it safe to say everyone who has pitched in so far would do the same for Joe's 1979 set? If this works out as good as I am hoping, we could make arrangements to do his sometime in January perhaps.
