Re: The beauty *N* the beast
I think most of the cups are 2 1/2"-3" and people cut them down to around an inch and a half. The plates I got from member jlaird on here...he sells them on ebay.
Frame looks really good!!!

Re: The beauty *N* the beast
Just read though. Good story and going to be a killer truck! I know you said not a show truck, but sure looks like it could be as nice as you're doing it! Nice work on the frame and cab, I'll be watchin'!

Re: The beauty *N* the beast
Come to find out my spindle/rotor won't work for the wheels I have so I guess I'll be getting new spindles. I have these sold already so no biggy. The wheel actually fits fine but the Budnik wheels have a center cap that srews into the wheel and the hub on these rotors are to big. The light duty rotors hub have more of a taper and the caps will fit those fine. But to fit those I have to go with a different spindle. I'll have it lined out in a day or two.

Re: The beauty *N* the beast
The cup on the left was finished, they are 1" tall now instead of 1/2".

Re: The beauty *N* the beast
Well the new spindle/rotor things not gonna work. I guess I may have to have my hubs milled down a little so I can get the caps to go on. Anyone with any suggestions on having the hubs milled? I have seen other people do this so I guess it would still be safe.

Re: The beauty *N* the beast
I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't think it would effect anything. Doesn't look like it would. Except allowing you to get your caps on!

Re: The beauty *N* the beast
Yea I've been working grave yard shift so I looked at threads on this all night lastnight and it looks like the Boss 338's had the same issue I have with my wheels. There have been several people here who had to do the same thing. As a matter of a fact I just walked in from dropping them off to be turned down. I found a custom motorcycle shop that will do both hubs for 30 bucks.

Re: The beauty *N* the beast
Funny story I have to tell. The guys at the shop I took my rotors to ($30.00 for both rotors) are all pretty hard core bikers and well the customer service isn't all that great but the guys are pretty cool. I took them in thinking it would take about the same amount of time as it would to have a set of rotors turned for a brake job. So I figured I would take them up there and wait your normal 30 minutes and bring them home. Well that obviously wasn't happening so I left them just before lunch thinking ok maybe he will call me to come pick them up later. Never got a call so I went by today a little after lunch to see if they had started on them. Walk in the shop area and lo and behold there is my rotors right were I left them hadn't been touched. Well no one was there for me to ask about a time frame of when they may be finished so I just went ahead and loaded them up and took them to a machine shop down the road. The guys there wanted $85.00 to turn them down and said it would be a week. While I was there I called another machine shop and they charged a minimum of one hour on all jobs that was going to be $115.00. Needless to say I put them back in my truck and drove straight back to the bike shop walked in put the rotors back where I found them never seen or talked to anyone lol. Patience is a virtue especially when you don't have a whole lot of cash.

Re: The beauty *N* the beast
Went to Battle drag here in H-town for just a little while today even though it was raining. Hasn't rained here in months so we really needed it but I hated seeing all the nice shiney rides getting drenched. I feel like I live in Cali with all the wild fires we've had. Anyway here is a few pics I snapped with my cell for you guys who like the custom look.

Outback truck parts in Spring has just about everything you need to restore your truck, they have a web site. And of course there is always the internet.

Re: The beauty *N* the beast
Thanks Most of the work that I've done has been rust repair. The rest of this build will be real slow. Hopefully I will be able to order my new axles next week.

Re: The beauty *N* the beast
NICE! Can't wait to get my chassis that clean! Glad the rotor/wheel cap worked out for ya. Just curious if you don't mind, how much did it cost to get that done (future reference)?
