Re: cup holder

Once the face plate adapter is done it will look like the ash tray is still there when closed.

Re: cup holder

So I'm curious if it will hit the ac duct hoses behind the dash because it sticks out so far from the back? I have a 67 ash tray so it may be a bit different.

Re: cup holder

Hey guys,

I picked up one of these from LS Fabrication in Canada. It bolts right the the base of where the hold down screws are on our AC/Defrost units mount. It may vibrate a tad, but it's never let me or my drinks down.

Re: cup holder

I was astonished to find they're still making these things.
They ARE period correct, though ;-)

Re: cup holder

The 3D printed slider is awesome. Have been working on my cup holder as well. I do not have one of those 3D printer gizmos or the knowledge to use it. I am doing it with basic materials available. Ash tray is modded and cup holder slides in and out. The tray length is a bit of an issue with the tray slider. Have a solution, just no time yet to implement the change. Hope to provide pics of another option soon.

Re: cup holder

Hate me if you want but I'm not gunna ask him to give it away free as I asked him to make this for me with the possiblity he could sell one or two. The one I am installing today the one I post the final pics of is the 5th version. Started with a smaller one and ended up with the size it is as thats what worked best with this particular cup holder. Each bracket he made took 16hrs to print. He sat at home at his desk with calipers and measured figure and created a 3d model from scratch then proceeded to print them out. the two pieces that attach to the cup holder itself so the face plate adapts was his own idea and design. He doesnt care if any sell he did this to help me. He took in to account that others had said they did not want to ruin thier original ash tray and designed this one to fit without ruinin it. Thats a lot of trail error and personal time. Please dont take me wrong I am just explaining after what he went thru to make this why I dont wanna now ask him to hand the program out. Then someone else will make them to sell.
