Ok,Thanks! Now I get it. Guess it helps to read more thoroughly. That first picture looks like Dark Olive & White on my 'puter and I saw Medium Olive in the text and figures many people confuse the colors and think Medium is "light" and Dark is "medium".
Although the Medium Olive would look good,it just gives a "wrong way" or old feller got a hold of some paint look,IMO. I dunno,it's just me. I had a Medium Olive truck I painted the wheels Rallye wheel Silver on and it looks great...and as if it was factory...unless you knew better ('69s had silver wheels). For the sake of argument, that might be a great compromise.

Here's the ole work truck. Not the same deal, but gives an idea how silver works w/Medium Olive Poly

Re: Help on wheel color for steel with Dog Dish

From a guy who has black painted steelies, I think either medium olive or white will look best.

This truck looks pretty good with black steelies.

wasn't black stock on 67-8 4x4s (and with NO caps)? I've seen silver on a few pre-71's, but not many. Still think white is rite.

Re: Help on wheel color for steel with Dog Dish

I can see where the painter is coming from. You have an unusual two-tone and white introduces a third color that detracts from it...makes it a three-tone. Black would do the same thing,as about any color will, but not as bad since black is always there. But,I think using either color will be overboard on either color. Silver just blends. I mean, chrome steelies would be awesome. Chrome is just chrome and there's already some on your truck. Chrome is silver, silver looks as if it could be factory,it's just there/blends,kinda goes with the chrome, and is like on rallye wheels. You could add beauty rings and for all intents and purposes your truck will appear to have chrome wheels. I bet your painter would agree.
