Thanks Liz for trying to teach manners to the minority. It seems like parents aren't teaching them as much as they used to.

I have always wanted to take a car and gut the daylights out of it to see just how light I can get it. I have also said to myself "wonder how this motor would run if I took it out of this 5,500 lbs truck and put it in a 3,000 lbs car?". My suspicions were right!

Just look at this thread now! We have taken the subject of bashing and started talking about something good! Oops...back to the original subject.

Opinions are not taboo here, but bashing in any form is. We encourage you to interact and post comments as long as they are in a positive manner. Even comments of criticism can be posted in a way that don't offend, but thats not what this post is about.

To be clear, this post was made because the volume of post being made with the sole intent to be critical of how a vehicle looks has increased dramatically. The staff has been instructed to lock these type of posts with no reply because no matter how we reply everyone becomes defensive.

Unfortunately the increase in volume of these types of posts, and the subsequent reporting that ensues has the staff members working overtime on an issue that is not our normal focus. In an attempt to curtail this type of posting Liz is bringing this to the general membership attention as fair warning that it will no longer be quietly tolerated.

Consider this a warning shot to all.

So, I just want to understand clearly- If we find a truck somewhere that's "interesting", we shouldn't post it? Or is it OK to post it still?

Re: Bashing threads Please Read..

It's really not that complicated. Just stop and think what you want the result to be by posting an "interesting" truck. If you post a pic to get others to agree with you on how retarded you think it looks then it's not coming from a good place. Many of the posts they are talking about start out just fine. Never fails though that some member who left their tact, good sense etc behind has to jump on board and show just how #@%$ they really are.

Re: Bashing threads Please Read..

Give you an example......I start a thread that says "Hey guys.....what do you think of the couple of accent pieces I put on my truck??"

Someone decides to say that they think my dogdish caps look stupid. I happen to think the caps give the truck "pop". However, my feelings are hurt because you didn't package your comment in an appropriate way. You could have said "those caps are one way to go. Have you considered whitewalls to set off the caps?" See what I mean?

I like your dog dish caps, but they could use a little polish.

Hey Liz I have to ask. Is it easier raising children or running a forum.
It seems like everybody is having kids, so ill ask the question I always do. Boy or girl. So far it been a tie.

But seriously guys think of it this way, what were you taught in school about teasing people? Use that same knowledge with peoples vehicles, hard work, an creativity. Bashing car threads is kinda like bullying in school, its not acceptable nor tolerated.

If you spend enough time in the "engine and drivetrain" section, you will know that ole Ricky Boddy is about having fun and going to great lengths to be funny. Come on.....look at my avatar!

The fact that I post THAT pic and only bring attention to the center caps is simply comedic genius. There was a little bit more going on in the picture. Kinda cool that he will marry you and then mow your lawn!

trev.. we have a boy and 2 girls now and this one is a girl also. As for the forum vs kids thing .. close tie both have their trying moments but both are a blessing most times.
pro.. I do, and knew where you were going with it. I just do not ever need you to tell me why you had that pic

Thumbs up Re: Bashing threads Please Read..

Liz you know me and how I am.

With that being said I don't care for some peoples taste but that's them just as I'm sure some don't like mine either but it's mine.

If you don't like someones truck are think it's over price then fine you don't have to post about it.
I like everyones truck even if it doesn't meet my expectations of what a truck should be. I know a lot of time and effort went into each one no matter how it turned out.
This site would be very boring if everyones truck looked just alike!
Thanks to Liz & Josh for having all of us here!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
