Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Post Your 73-80 Truck Pics

I bought this truck a week ago for use as a work truck. It is a 1977 and in good shape for its age. After a week of playing with it I'm starting to have second thoughts. It has a 454 engine, turbo 400 trans. PS, PB, AC, and the dual tank option. Will try to decide which way to go with it soon, Thanks

Re: Post Your 73-80 Truck Pics

here are some pics of mine. i purchased the truck 2 years ago with the intentions of doing the frame off build. my warden, er fince, said i was retarded for having the truck for 3 days before tearing it down to the frame.
so here it was:

and here it is now:

fortunately for me, i did somme sucking up for v-day and the wardens b-day so i get in return a mcgaughys 4-6 drop kit for my b-day in aprtil.

maybe if i suck up some more she will let me buy it now so i can have her a roller sooner.

Re: Post Your 73-80 Truck Pics

ok, here are 3 of 4 of my fleet.

White 79 Chevy, soon to be an ex 250 six

The one that started it all. 78 K-10

Red 79 former diesel, will donate the body to the 78 k10, and I'm in the process of pulling the Old's 403 and turbo 400 and putting them in the white 79. Not show is my 78 C-10 Bonaza, two tone blue. Low mileage but bend a pushrod. Need to finish painting the engine and get it in.

NICE!!! Do me a favor and give me a shout before you toss any of the Diesel specific stuff, you don't use. Always looking for spares for Ol' Silver. Really needs Silverado Style Dash Bezel with the Rectangle cut out for the "Glow Plugs" "Don't Start" Light between the speedo and gas gauge.

Here is Ol' Silver in all it's glory....

Funny you mention the 79 Diesel donating it's cab to a 78 K10, same thing may happen with Ol' Silver. I just looked at a 78 (but I think it's really a 79) Auto A/C 4x4 K10 Silverado with a cab that has rust bubbling out under the old bondo in the rockers and cab corners and new unpainted bondo slapped on in spots. Guy just put a sign on it in his driveway, he wants $800 but says the tranny slipsbecause it needs a filter and it needs a transfer case (which he has for $250 extra). It has a utility bed on the back that needs to go. Going to see if I can get it for the right money.

Ol' Silver has a very solid cab outside of light surface rust where the paint is evaporated on the roof and the A & B Pilllars. The floors, corners, and rockers that look almost new, at least not older than 5 years. There is a single rust thought spot under the windshield on the passenger side about the size of a nickel. The 2wd cab would clean up great with a little soda blasting. And yet the bottoms of the doors are completely ate up, go figure.

Of course the Olds 5.7L Diesel strapped to a 700R4 and a NP205 would go in the 78 K10 also

Thanks.... I looked in a GM color chip book at the body shop, so they could order it. I can't remember if it is 6218 or 62608:

Man that sucks! Do you think the cops will allow you to have some private time with the guys who stole it and wrecked it?

Here's Mini-Monster, I've had it since October - rebuild the engine (in my living room), rewired the engine bay and lots of the dash, did some interior work, and just two days ago installed these tires:

By the way, that Lincoln Town Car with the hood scoop and push bars in the background of the first pic is also mine

Here are my three girls:

77 GMC C15 stepside on the left, 80 GMC K25 Longbox in the middle (project truck), and 96 GMC K1500 on the right (daily driver). Yeah, I know, I have a thing for GMC :P

Tiggers, if you want to start a new project, I don't really need three trucks, and I happen to really like both my 80 and 96, if you catch my drift

PM me if you want more details, I'm only an hour and a half North of you on Highway 21
