in a nut shell, you relocate the park/neutral switch at the bottom of the steering column by cutting and relocating the hole in which it mounts to. drilling out the glue in the factory intermidiate shaft so it can then be collapsed a little bit.. re drill new holes and insert plastic rivit. lengthen the steering column mount (that holds the column to the dash) "fingers". the fingers im reffering to are the pieces that holds the aluminum slider piece. then reassemble and adjust shift linkage. easy peazy if you have a cut off wheel with a skinny blade and a welder... pretty hard if you dont have either.

Re: What are your favorite modifications to your ride?

Yo! All of them, I guess.
The whole truck is a modification,...it's FRANKENTRUCK!
Perhaps it's the 325hp/411ftlb torque 4blt main 350 that I built for it,...
No,...the rebuilt TH400 with new 1200 sp converter.
NAW,...it's the twinstick, machined NP205!!
A 4.11:1 Dana (Warn locking) and a 5560lb rated full-floater axle really makes it nice,...
33" on 17"s?,...
Great four channel stereo,...
It's a good truck.
Todd.

Man I really like your burb. I wish I could force myself to build something as I drive it and not tear everything down to the frame. The progression and quality of your burb makes me really jealous.

Re: What are your favorite modifications to your ride?

Probably converting the NP203 to a part time and also the front hubs. Bottom end actually has power and gas mileage sky rocketed.

Or the new motor, or the new transmission with the shift kit.

Man, this is tough. One thing is for sure it ain't the damn tires.

Talking Re: What are your favorite modifications to your ride?

doing away with the smog crap (we don't have emission testing or inspection here)

putting on a performance edelbrock carb and intake on it.

put on mud and snow tires on it the roads suck here!

and adding a smaller steering wheel as the stock one
rubs my fat roll

and 2.5 true dual straight pipes with 12 inch cherry bombs

that's all

Re: What are your favorite modifications to your ride?

My favorite mods...I fiberglassed my dashpad. I covered over the trim piece on the front of it to smooth it out with foil tape and cardboard, put tape over the old speaker holes, made the defroster vents the same size, which meant covering up where the vin was, and covered the whole dash with resin and woven fiberglass cloth. do not use the mat stuff unless you want a shag rug look or you like sanding, and then I bondo'ed the hell out of it. It turned out real good, and was really easy to do. dont waste your money buying a crappy looking dashpad...Another fave is my tailgate....after looking at DV8's build, I wanted to do something similar. I wanted it smooth though, but I liked what he did with the letters, but that was too much cutting and welding and it would probably end up warping alot when I was done, so I cut out the chevrolet sign and welded it in the lower right corner and welded a flat sheet of body steel over the rest of the tailgate to make it smooth, and moved the handle to the back. I have pics on my phone that I'll try to upload....

Re: What are your favorite modifications to your ride?

Another of my favorite mods I've done is adding an extra leaf to the rear end, gave it an aggressive stance and it's a lot harder to squat.
