As far as ebrake is concerned, I am moving mine to the inner side panel where the air vent is. I am covering that up and mounting it there using a pedal assembly from a 80's van if I remember correctly. I also bought an adjustable ebrake cable from Lokar. I know I am losing the airvent but I have really long legs and I am constantly scraping them on the handle.

Finally got all the brackets built. E-brake works great. Wiring harness comes later in the project. Planning a cover for the wiring under the column.
Had to add 1 wire under the dash for a hazard flasher( orange wire to flasher , brown wire up to column switch ) and now all directional lighting works perfect! Everything else wired up color to existing color. The new orange wire comes from the hot side of the brake light switch , using the same circuit so the hazard light quit flashing when the brake lights are on. (as per 1977 Chevy wiring diagram) Finished tilt steering column . I removed the lock mechanism and ignition switch and ground off the un-used lock casting, Machined a piece of aluminum for a plug that press fit into the hole left by the lock, epoxied in place and added a roll pin that I drilled in from inside the collar.Press fit piece was sanded smooth to match and painted. Looks great ,no trace that a key ever existed. Steering wheel was found installed in a Buick 4-door in the local the Pick-A -Part. Maybe a mid 80's Chevy Camaro sport wheel? Dunno what it came from, but it was only $8.00... The 64 E-brake highly modified to fit a 77 Tilt column. Gee-- it is good to be attaching and posting again.. Bubba

Now the old three speed transmission has been removed and the automatic Is ready to go in as soon as I borrow a transmission jack.

It is a 230-- the block number says it is a 250, The 230 & 250 pistons both are 3.875 bore,and the crank casting number says it is a 194 crank . The 194 and 230 are both 3.250 stroke and will interchange. So a 194 crank in a 250 block is really a 230 cu. Hey, I did not put it there, but it runs fine!!

Hi Bubba yeah that's an offy also the side covers match but have no name. I got the cover from Jegs and the side covers from Langdon's stovebolt, The intake is a Clifford, it is hot water heated, the carb is a Edelbrock # 1404 500 cfm w/manual chock. I rebuilt the stock one barrel twice and I could get it to idle the mid range was balky get the mid range right it wouldn't idle. It has a marine cam from Mercruiser but runs smooth from idle on up. The air cleaner came from ebay I can't remember the name right now but I have a slip somewhere. Thanx---Vernski PS to Cap thanx for the compliment, will bring it by but it may be in the spring right now it has some bare metal I need to get covered up.--Vernski |

Truck dr.--You might have the bracket from an integrated head 250. My bracket came from 250 pre-intregrated head. I do not know if the 292 takes a different mount or not. I looked for a LONG time to find this one.
I found 1 on E-bay last week and told a friend but he missed out on the bidding . It went for $99.00. Watch E-bay! I have seen several since I started but they bring $75-$125 with lots of activity. Good luck Bubba

The 6 cyl power steering setups show up every once in a while here in the '67-'72 classifieds. They might on the '73-'87 classifieds too, but I don't check there much.

Bubba yea the truck that I got that brackets from was a 74 not a 5, and it was a 292 as I ended up buying it and put it in my 65 burb. Seeing all these engine pics sure makes me want to get back working on my 67. What a great bunch folks here and a whole slew of awesome trucks, thanks again for all the help. Dave

YEAH!!! The turbo 350 transmission is in place. Then it rained and I had to stop. Maybe tomorrow I can get the rear tranny brace tightened and the starter installed.

Paint code says light blue- A 1964 standard color It has been repainted once but is very close to original. It appears washed out in the florescent lights in the garage. This is a summer picture when the front end was out. Do a google search for www.autocolorlibrary.com It has all the old paint colors from the old days
