Thanks Jim.
Yea keeping the clip but going to cut it off and blend it back down the frame. I have to find a way to identify the year of the clip because i need to buy some drop spindals and a rebuild rubber kit.

56, if you can get some good pics of the front end and post them on this thread, some of the members might be able to identify the year, wouldn't hurt to try.....Jim

Fat56,

Your truck rocks! I have a quick question about your steps on the bed. What are you going to do about the 2 bolts that hold the steps to the brace?

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)

Have you made any progress? I really like what you have done so far. It is amazing what shiny paint and polished chrome can hide underneath it (that front clip job was scary!). Anyway, keep it up and hope you are getting more completed with it. I love seeing these old trucks showing up around the world. Thanks for sharing your project with us!

Re: 56 chevy build (Aus)

Thanks everyone.

Things are moving a little slow at the moment. As australia is having a huge crack down on modifications and engineering on street legal car/trucks. So just waiting and doing all the small things untill the rules are put down in black and white.

Couple of photos of my progress.

Got a nice delivery today, so i can get stuck in to mounting the handbrake and gas pedal.

Just finished on getting all the exposed metal in a 2k etch.

Bought the sun visor brand new thinking it would be a straight fit HAHA i wish! it was 50mm to long on both sides, so had to cut and bend it. Whole night gone.

firewall turned out nice just needs a little bit more bodywork before i prime it.

Tailgate is now all mounted and finished. i love how the rear turned out nice and clean. i dont have a photo but i moved the back bumper in almost 3", so now it hugs the fenders.

Flush mounted some led reverse lights. Had to have them for the engineer's report and Registration.

Makes a big deference once everything is one colour. Really Really happy with how the steps turned out.

Inner fenders Before.

After

and just some random photos i know everyone loves photos.
