Re: Flying to buy my first Blazer!!!

Congrats on the purchase. And so begins the addiction...

I will agree with bouncy - a bit of elbow grease and some time - that paint might be salvageable.

Re: Flying to buy my first Blazer!!!

Looks like a real nice solid Blazer. I think you stole it for $2500 and had an "Excellent Adventure" besides. Congrats.

Re: Flying to buy my first Blazer!!!

Hey Bouncytruck it was great to drive tracks straight and has enough power. About 3 hours from home the drivers side muffler blew out. The exhaust looks newer and only bolted together so I am hoping to just replace that muffler. I need to find a nice rear hatch mine is barely there.

Looks great, and I agree that a little buffing will go a long with with paint for now. Keep an eye out on the classifieds. Hatches are a little hard to come by, but you should be able to find one. Become a registered member even and post up a WTB (Want To Buy) ad for hopefully even a quicker response.

Re: Flying to buy my first Blazer!!!

I've been working on buffing it. I had to work until 7 tonight so I couldn't go get some rubbing compound. I have been using some finish compound and it is cutting the oxidation good enough.

Congrats on the trip not being wasted! Looks like a good start, quite a bit like mine, only I had to add the 4 speed, mine was originally a 3OTT.

Re: Flying to buy my first Blazer!!!

Well I have found a nice single wall top with a sun roof....not my favorite but the top is in great condition and original blue seats. They are on a Jimmy for sale for 1500$ I have been thinking of offering him my stuff and cash for his stuff. My wife really isn't on board for buying a whole other k5 yet... What would be a fair price to ask for trading my not so nice stuff for his original not so nice stuff?? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Sounds like a good trip. Atleast you ended up with a Blazer. I am in Co so next time I could go check something out for you. You may want to check the jetting on that carb. We have to change jets and timing for this altitude. You have alot more oxygen where you live.
