Re: Im sick, very very sick
If you guessed TURBO, then you are correct
I you guessed Duramax Turbo on a 500 Caddy in a 67 Chevy short step drag truck, then you are even more correct Last edited by Spray-Bomb; 10-21-2008 at 07:31 PM. |

Re: Im sick, very very sick
Matt... you do know the turbo would be way wrong for the aplication though... right? That turbo will be done spinning at 300 - 3500 RPM (rough guess) you'd want something that'll spin up to 5000 or so.

Re: Im sick, very very sick
Im not stuck on using that turbo, its just one I have laying around & would like to find a use for
Its actually too small for building any real boost on that engine Beings how a Duramax is around 6 liters & my engine is around 8, lets say a dury makes about 8 PSI, then it would be hard pressed to build much at all on a engine that is basically 2 liters bigger And thats on a stock engine not twisting it over 4K Last edited by Spray-Bomb; 10-22-2008 at 12:31 AM. |

Re: Im sick, very very sick
The Pontiac Trans Am turbos work well as a pair on a Caddy 500.
What EFI controller do you plan to use? |

Re: Im sick, very very sick
check this link: http://www.cadillacpower.com/forum/i...d8bb&board=4.0 there is a guy ,Dave Brode that has considerable knowledge on turbo Cads also check out MTS Maximum Torque Specialties Marty Lane in Apple Valley Cal great guy with tons of knowledge on BBC (Big Block Cad). You are in for a thrill, I've got a 69 burb with a 472 in it and a built 507 ready to go in place of the 472 cant wait to play with this! Can you say torque monster! I also believe one of the board members (Grendel) has dealt with Dave maybe he can add to this.

Re: Im sick, very very sick
Nice score!! If i were you I would put that in the corner and throw a tarp over it until you get Killer done! You have put a lot of time and effort in to it and its getting really close! I want to see you finish one! When I was building my 68 I bought a 66 Nova... I wanted to rip it apart so bad but knew I wouldn't finish my truck... It was hard but YOU CAN DO IT!!!
