Great project, and nice fast work so far! I agree with Trevor, that is a really nice donor truck!

Re: 69 crew duramax build

Thanks for the comments guys. I kinda stumbled onto the donor and jumped on it for the price. It was exactly what I was looking for. Decent miles 125k, 4wd and lbz engine. Still driving it right now until cab is done and ready to swap.

Re: 69 crew duramax build

Don't give me too much credit. I have a very accomplished street rod builder doing most of the work. I handle the parts gathering and some of the non-technical stuff. I got lucky that he was in between projects and had some free time.

Re: 69 crew duramax build

It's a combination of a cut down pickup drivers door frame and hinge mounting. Suburban skin for outside and suburban inner.

Re: 69 crew duramax build

All latches are in and operational! Shaved handls are ground smooth. Time to smooth and fill holes in firewall. Not much extra to see in pictures right now.

With no handles inside or out for latches who wants to guess how they operate from inside? Does not involve a remote or button. These are manual latches.

Re: 69 crew duramax build

Are they "detent" latches?? Push to latch, push to unlatch??
