Re: 66 blazer build

Have I metioned latley how much fun rust repair is? Oh and how well aftermarket patch panels fit on a rusty beat to death suburban. GRRRRR! Oh ya, I almost forgot about the fiberglass front fenders that don't work with repop inner fenders. I did get all of the rusty front sheetmetal off today and put on my less rusty grille apron and the new inner fenders. Also got the toe boards and most of the floor clamped in place. May get the drivers side finised on saturday, then I can loss the rest of my hair on the passenger side. I am going in for knee surgery on tuesday, so I wont be working on the hearse for a couple weeks. I dont think the docter will be impressed if I have to go back because I unfix my knee lowering the burb.
Anyway, on a lighter note. I went cruising in the Stageway thursday night and man the chicks are diggin that big long bus. heads turnin and thumbs up everywhere we went.

Re: 66 blazer build

rust repair is no fun... at least you knew yours was rusty to start...
Those repop inners are nice, but take a little coaxing to get in to place.
mine had the steering column cover holes wrong.. three on the top were NOT punched out with nuts spotted on, and the bottom 2 had nuts spotted, when all they require are a sheetmetal screw.
they were still easier than rust repair though.

Re: 66 blazer build

The drivers side is all but done! If my welder would have not quit, it would be done. Now to repeat on the passenger side and say more adult words till its in, if I can fix the welder.

Re: 66 blazer build

No pix yet, It was dark when I finished up last night and I just got home from knee surgery. I will hobble out there tomarrow and snap some pics of all my progress. I also just got hooked up will some drop spindles, 6 lug rotors, and a power booster with a disc/drum prop valve. This board is the best thing to happen to chevy owners since the invention of the SBC! HOORAHH
