Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
Pic of my youngest son and daughter "helping" me. They love the car and miss my old c10. and a not very fun pic, had to fix some leaks on the 700r4. new pan with solid flange, resealed the selector shaft and the rear speedo housing. refilled with all new fluid and so far no drips.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
I am sad that i sold my 68 c10 that i built and drove on the power tour. I am very pleased to see it on the cover of the catalog of the new owners business!! I guess you can tell who bought it. Have spoken with him a few times since and he has been driving it all the time. I miss that truck!

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
Last one for tonight, nothing to do with my wagon, but we went to the street rod nationals a few weeks ago and this was my oldest sons favorite car, as you can see my daughter liked it also. More updates in the next few weeks.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
I'll bet that glass was expensive to ship too.
Sure looks good tho. If that pickup is any indication of how this Parkwood is going to go, it's gonna be awesome. Plus you can get all your helpers in there!

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
I have been looking at my belt setup and thinking about adding the ac and power steering. I currently have a single groove crank pulley and water pump pulley. I really have no idea what i need to make this setup work. I am guessing a 3 groove crank and water pump pulleys? Anybody know? and where can i buy them. I dont want chrome or billet stuff.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
Placed another order with Travis at Properformance for Dakota DIgitals gauges and a fan controller, i love their products! Little more update, i was able to drive the car about 50 miles to see if the engine and tranny seem ok. Good news is the engine now runs great and all i really have to deal with on it is some leaks. Bad news is the trans does not shift into overdrive. Car is now at a friends tranny shop for checkout to see what needs done. More updates to come when i hear back.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
I'm digging the wagon! You rarely ever see any '59/'60 wagons anymore, and that makes it even cooler.
I was born and raised in Louisville. South End, near Iroquois Park. That town has a GREAT car scene.

I took the engine out of the car yesterday, will get some pics up maybe late tonight. planning on getting it mounted on the stand when i get home from work. |

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
So i decided to pull the engine to reseal, add a mild cam and paint it up. ALso will be painting the firewall while engine is out. I am glad i did this, you can see one of the valve retainers was about to let go. I pulled the heads just to replace gaskets and make the spring install easier. Found the engine has .30 over pistons in it and is very clean inside with no sludge buildup. Need to make an order to summit!

As Advanced Design suggested Alan Groves products are good stuff. They are strong, simple and well designed. Great project, I love long roof cars.

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
stripped down the firewall, cut out the hole for the new american autowire harness! Installed the cover plate from the vintage air kit and primed the firewall. If weather is good i will paint it in the next couple of days. I am very happy with the progress so far. A long way to go though...

Re: 1960 chevy parkwood wagon!
Took out the column to send out for a rebuild!! ripped out all the old dash wiring harness. I am so happy i made the decision to go this deep in this car and do the whole wiring harness etc, i plan on it being in our family for a long time and want it to be reliable. It is going on the 2015 power tour!!
