the engine without the manifols in the last picture. It has the oil fill cap in the middle of the valve cover. Very good chance its the desirable chev 261.

Here in Montana the scrap vehicles harbor a lot of wasp nests. Haven't dealt with that yet as I arrived late last year but what a PITA. What do you do, bring insecticide with you to pull parts?

During the summer in Wisconsin, I carry a can of wasp and hornet killer. The type that shoots a stream 20 feet or so. Give them a shot and your good to go. Just watch for those returning to the nest! Waiting for a while helps reduce that risk.

...give me a big wrecking yard on a sunny spring morning any day...the smell of oil....blue sky....I love it!!....and best of the all...the hunt for treasure!! LOL
Always makes me think whenever I'm walking through another typical shopping mall on a weekend and wonder what I'm doing there!

All Good

I'll keep a can in the garage next to my bear spray!

x2....it's fun to be the only guy wandering around in a yard

My favorite score so far was a set of NOS slider windows for a Blazer/Jimmy top - too bad they were both RH

With the winter we have had it felt good to just wander around in the warm sunshine.
Over 70 days below zero and about 113 days with at least 15" of snow on the ground and still counting.

Re: Who likes junkyard pics? ( most everyone!)

That reminds me of the junkyard in my state that I visit from time to time. It also has a lot of these trucks. But with them all I STILL cannot find a longbed stepside spare tire fender for my truck! In fact there are few stepsides there at all. I LOVE junkyard pics!

When you are that far away you can only haul so much. I needed a truck for myself. The pic of the red lockout was a 69-70 gmc burb.

Some of these trucks I bet you could get running and make $$$ selling on eBay with all the patina.
Alot of them have been sitting for so long... Still alot of good parts.

Haven't had much for problems with that. Watch where you put your hands and if it is that bad i may pass on the parts. If its a tach or hooks or something, i can improvise.

Would it be too much if I ask you for the info on the yard that had the burbs in it. If you could please PM the info. I would appreciate it.

Re: Who likes junkyard pics? ( most everyone!)

I've been to the "eastern OK" yard many times. They used to be a little hard to buy from. Someone told me recently that they were a lot easier to buy from nowadays. Nice haul!

That's just not fair,, wish I could find a place like that near me, I 'd be happy if I only had to drive a couple hours,, I would probably be at that place everyday,,,
