Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)
It's good to know the wheelbases are so close. I am going to pick up a wrecked Tahoe as a drivetrain donor eventually for my 4x4 project. I was just going to do a driver side drop front axle swap but may look into doing the entire frame swap similar to what you are doing instead.
How high above the rest of the frame are the arches over the axle?

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)
If I remember right the optical VSS output from your speedo conversion is 2000 ppm and the TPI ECM wants to see 4000 ppm. I think you will have to run that optical VSS output through a DRAC like the stock TBI trucks did but use the 4000 ppm output from it to feed the TPI ECM instead of the 2000 ppm output the TBI ECM used.
It may run fine but the tune will be off since the ECM will think you are going half as fast as you actually are. It will mess up the coolant fan cut off speeds and not allow you to make highway mode work properly too. Highway mode is one of the coolest features of the 8D programming for the 1227730 TPI ECM. Even though it was disabled in stock form for emissions reasons the programmers were nice enough to leave it in the code so we could reactivate it My 91 Z/28 jumped from 24 mpg on the freeway to 30 mpg after I turned on highway mode.

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)
Hey 68 TT, I think my plan is to run the factory Yukon instrument cluster. I've already cut out the C20 dash. I'm going to have to custom build my own dash.
, I'd like to build something that looks like this,,,,,,, , I don't know who's truck this is but I think this style and design would work well with the Yukon instrument cluster. I would like to re-flash my computer so it will ignore the rear o2 sensor. Do you know where I can send it for this mod? are there any other cool mods I should have them do?

Looks very C2 Vette in style. That will look great.
LT1swap.com seems to be popular from what I have read on here. I was planning on buying the software to tune my own with the LS swap. I have tuned & burned chips for many OBD-1 ECM's but haven't done the OBD-2 stuff yet. Posted via Mobile Device

Nice build there are tons of info and brains to pick from here. I started with just having to finish off the interior and put the trim on until I found this site and saw what could be done.

Glad to see someone doing this. I had been thinking of it for a while now. Looking forward to seeing how you work it all out. The work looks fabulous so far.

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)
I don't know about you guy's, but I think stripping paint is a pain. We don't have any pro soda blasting business's in the local area so I thought I'd buy my own blaster and do it myself.
I got the dual blaster (soda and sand) from eastwood and well,,,umm,,, let's just say I'm not to impressed. I wish I could recommend this product but I don't think these blasters are really up to the task (pretty light duty/low power). They are difficult to use because they run the hoses from the sand tank and the one from the soda tank together into a "Y" block so that (with the use of valves) you can blast both media's together. But with the hoses together, it's difficult to move them around, especially when it's cold out. So I split the hoses apart and put a blast nozzle at the end of each one. This helped quite a bit but I'm still dis-appointed in the blasting strength of the soda side (sand side works pretty good). I don't know if anyone else has had any better luck with these things, let me know. Thanks again for all the encouragement.

I cant seem to get it to flow right and my 33 gal crapsman compressor cant keep up. Blasting in general never fails to piss me off. glad to see you got it blasted off pretty well.

Re: "TANGERINE" (C20 to K10) (LWB to SWB) (CST/MOD) (5.3)
I've never used a soda blaster before. I have used a cheap sand blaster for my project. It is very time consuming mostly because I only have a 5 hp compressor and it has a hard time keeping up with air demand. I think its still faster than trying to sand some parts. Show us some pics of your blasted parts.

Ok, I finished blasting the cab,, it came out pretty well. I did try using aircraft stripper, but I think that was just as slow as the soda. There is a little primer left in spots, but I still have to hit it with the D.A. and I think that should clean it all up.

It's got the usual rust, in the usual places,,,,nothing too serious.
, , , I've got new rockers and cab corners. I'm going to custom build my inner rockers. There's a little rust around the windshield and rear window, should be an easy fix. I also have the fuel fill hole to patch over and some other mods to make.
