The Jeep tank fit pretty good...I added a small crossmember below the bed to have something the front end of the tank to rest on. The only issue is the filler size, 1". I'm running an in bed filler from the same jeep. The tank is barely visable below the rear sport bumper and otherwise would not be an issue if the truck were lowered.
PLease post pictures if you have them!

Re: Gas tanks?

Well, I don't know that anything I've got is anything new or isn't already on this site but here's a few pics. In fact, I think I got the wrangler tank idea from Mr. Rhino's thread. However, iirc, he cut his cross sill to fit the tank up against the bottom of the bed. I set mine on the cross sill and added an extra piece of the sill to balance it out.

The blazer has a 4" spring lift and H052 axle. The rear cross member was moved all the way back to the end of the frame. '87 blazer tank and sender with ep381.

Re: Gas tanks?

C-10 LWB with '89 Wrangler tank (15gal), '87 blazer sender, '87 blazer tank straps cut down and rewelded. '89 Wrangler filler and hoses from McMaster Carr. The filler will probably be finished with a '72 blazer hose cover or something similar.

The cross members are in the stock position with an added section of a bed cross sill to balance out the tank. I think the tank will fit a SWB but you may have to fit it around the cross sill...I haven't really looked at it that close, yet. Stock height/original springs (I think).

Re: Gas tanks?

Fuel filler cover...copied off of my blazer and cut to fit the wrangler filler. Again, this filler was used since it has 1" fill hose and 3/4"(or 11/16"?) vent tube that matches the 15 gal '89/'90 tank.

I made a pattern of the blazer cover and used it to cut out the cover from 22g sheet metal.\

I filled it up today and it worked great! Plus, if I pull in real close to the pump I can pull up on either side of the truck...i.e. less waiting in line!!!

Re: Gas tanks?

Looks like a Boyd's Welding tank. Paid about $150 less for mine during a group buy.

Re: Gas tanks?

Now how about mounting a tow hitch with a rear tank? Looks like the blazer tank is a great candidate...but I am working on a Longhorn. Thanks
