Re: Wifes new "Mini Van" LOL

I have a friend that has a black '06 and another friend that works at the local Chevy dealership has a white '07. I thought they were just styling kits added to Trail Blazers until I heard the '07's throaty exhaust in front of me as Greg stood on it. Jon Moss is somewhere smiling in his rocking chair!

Nice grocery getter!

So does that engine have displacement on demand? What kind of mileage can you get with that motor? That's the motor I want for my truck if it does.

No the little ( ) 5.3 does in the standard TB and it says it gets 22mpg. The base 4.2L L6 says it gets 16/20 and this 6.0L says it will get 15/19mpg.
For an extra 1-3 mpg I fent the 395hp would be alot better for the midnight milk runs

I don't know about the '07, but our '06 does not have displacement on demand. When my wife drives the TBSS she gets about 14 mpg. When I drive I get about 13.6 MPG. I tend to put my foot in it a little more than she does. I also tend to pick fights with other cars on the hiway.

For here first day driving it to work and back 70 miles in heavy traffic (lots of rain) sh was getting 14.8mpg. If we stay in the 14-16 range that will be fine. I do plan on changing a few things that might help in small amounts to boost milage. I told the wife we need to lower it so their is less wind restiction, put on a more open exhaust to free up that back psi so the motor can breath right, go with a true cold air intake set up so it can get the air to fully use that new exhaust and then get a tune to make sure it all works together! I am suck a nice conciderate husband to be so worried about her car
