Re: Truck or Blazer
2wd blazers are at the top of my list.
I love them all. 70-72's, 73-75 (full top), and the 76-82 (half top) blazers. Just expect to pay more for a similar condition 2wd blazer. I still think the 73-75 full top blazers are one of the best bargains out there right now. Finding them in the 2wd version is pretty tough.

Re: Truck or Blazer
The best family vehicle is still the suburban.
Easy to get in and out of, and plenty of room. I still want to get another one some day,...

Re: Truck or Blazer
If I could have afforded a Blazer in like condition I would have bought it over my truck. Unfortunately budget drives everything in my house so I will happily "settle" for my truck.

Re: Truck or Blazer
Thanks for your input guys, I've been looking at a few and I may just sell the truck and gather funds to find a blazer!

Re: Truck or Blazer
I like this idea, I plan to get a Blazer after my truck is done. If I was in your situation with a kid on the way and needing more room, I would trade for the blazer if it is in similar shape as your truck.

Re: Truck or Blazer
If she doesn't like older stuff, I wouldn't count on her liking a Blazer any more than your truck. Just use her SUV for hauling the family around with and do whatever you want with your truck/blazer decision. With the pickup, you can actually use it for contributing to the greater family needs (hauling sand for the sandbox, that pile of lumber for the kiddy swingset, new drywall for the nursery, etc.) She may not like riding in the old monster, but at least she'd see some value in having it around. If you trade it for a Blazer that she ends up not liking anyway (and that's pretty much up to her), then what?
You obviously married the gal because you think she's pretty special even if she doesn't like old trucks. Some times its best just to leave things at that. Plus, even as a dad, there's something about strapping your baby (especially if its your first) into a newer car complete with all the safety doodads (ABS, better brakes, better handling, etc.).
