i got some bad news for ya your not gonna get any money out of the shop 99% of shops i know every shop i have ever worked in or been in has a sign in the office that says not responsible for theft or damage to vehicles. its not the shops fault your truck was stolen. not everything can be kept inside. the only person at fault for the theft is the thief himself.

I'm so sorry to hear that.
Last year about a week before the big swapmeet in Turlock, Ca my truck was attempted to be stolen. Who ever tried to steal my truck got very agrivated(sp) from trying to start the engine. The thief messed up my dash, and wiring harness. The neighbors i'm talking about are all drug addicts.
Come to find out some of the nieghbors were in on it. If i'm out front they won't look at me, and try to avoid me as much as possible.
If I catch any of them trying to steal her again, i'm gonna cut there nutz off, make them swallow them, cut there man hood off, make them shove it up there a$$, and cut there hands off.
Just like the sticker in the back window says "there's nothing in this vehicle worth your life".

I hope you Dad's truck is recovered, i'll be keeping an eye out for the truck in my area.
David

Here are pictures of the truck. As you can see, the antenna is missing from the passengerside. The truck has mid-70s ralleye wheels on it but there are no trim rings on the wheels because the tire shop didn't install the correct valvestems. In the second picture you can see the dent in the driverside door. There are a few new dents on the driverside fender (about the same type of dent, not SMASHED just dented). The cab roof is painted white. The truck has a chrome front bumper and a steel gray painted rear step bumper. There are no emblems on the truck except for the big block emblems underneath the signal light on the fenders. The grille is in nice shape, silver in color.

The VIN is: CCE142Z146115

I would agree with you on both counts! (Shop Employee - Cut Hands off)

I hope you guys can get the truck back, unharmed. Getting your hands on the thieves would be a nice bonus too but I think your chances of getting the truck back would be better.

Good Luck either way
