Re: what's your engine color? Pics Please

Here are a couple pics of my engine while it was going together. There was alot of talking of going red or black but all in all I am glad that I went orange. Mind you I have personally seen 72MARIO's truck and I really like his engine comp.

68 gmc dulley..........where did you get the tranny paint??? Brand?
Guys, you all have very nice engines. I really liked seeing all those BBs. You helped me get excited about getting my project moving today. I pulled my engine today and got most of it repainted......chevy orange. I had originally painted it red and it was fine but the orange is nice and bright. Thanks to you all............what a great Board.

My dad is one of two canadian Bill Hirsch dealers so I have a virtual endless supply of detailing paints. I believe that it is either cast blast or stainless steel. I will have to check my notes and get back to you on that one. The tranny is coming out and getting rebuilt so I will have to repaint it again anyways.

Re: what's your engine color? Pics Please

OK, I'll be the odd one out! Why not, afterall, I painted my Chevy a Chrysler color. My engine and tranny were painted Deep Mineral Metallic. It is a color used on the newer Mustangs. I loved it the first time I saw it. (I would include a recent pic with all the billet dress ups, but the truck is still in the body shop! One of these days...)

Yeah, that is different

A freinds neighbor painted his John Deere Green with all the yellow accents. I haven't seen it personally, thank goodness.

Dude, do you have overheating issues with the 6-cyl. radiator?

One's black & one's Chevy orange. The small block is a daily driver, so it will be easier to keep it clean, at least it will look cleaner...

sactojim,
I also have a tread requesting pics of firewalls so I can try to determine which holes of the many I have are correct. Do you have more pics of your firewall?

Orange coming out and the black going in. I left the new 1 black as it isn't factory. Eventually it will be back to orange when the whole truck gets a frame off.

I HAD THAT SAME ISSUE WITH MY 68 iMPALA. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I HAD A FRIEND ADJUST THE TIMING, AND POOF! NO MORE SMELL AND HARD STARTING.
