Re: 67 gmc 4x4

Here is some info on the power steering setup, it is 67 only. Bob was right about the Cal smog pump. You can send your motor mounts into Steel Rubber to have them refurbished. I also included a picture of the rear springs. That is how mine looked when I bought it. Only 2 springs.

Great buy. I wondered where the shift sticker was to be placed. LMC could only say the cab. Does looking at it on the ceiling make it appear in reverse order?

Re: 67 gmc 4x4

Here are some more pictures. The first is the carpet around the shifters. Can you buy it already cut like this?

The next is the wood in the bed:

This is the drivers side. Dont you love the green door. The original door is in the back.

The last pic is the rear springs. The two leaf kind?

If you want to see any more pics let me know.

Re: 67 gmc 4x4

The previous owner must have had the door open and backed up and sprung the door backwards. I may be able to fix it, but not sure.

Re: 67 gmc 4x4

you have a middle seat belt!!!!! wow amzingly hard to find for a 67 you have a gmc so you need the 67 seat belts with no bow tie on them unless you grind it off and make it smooth like a gmc one....

Re: 67 gmc 4x4

Please keep sharing photo's! That thing is a gold mine of things to document, since it hasn't been messed with too much.

I'm interested in the drive train in particular.
Axles, engine, trans, and t-case.

Save that carpet, and have a new one made using that one as a template.
The t-case rubber boot is not reproduced in the original style like that, so if it is still good enough to save then I recommend it.

67/68 Stuff like that is only reproduced in a generic fit all style, which to me is frustrating when vendors tout things as being correct when they are in fact not.

Re: 67 gmc 4x4

Naturally I like it! I think you will find the GMC V-6 makes a great off road engine. Loads of torque at low r.p.m.'s. Correct on the 2 leaf tapered rear springs. The right valve cover does come very close to the firewall. In fact, the shop manual says to put the #6 cylinder on the exhaust stroke before you try to remove it. There is a 'sweet spot', when you find it the valve cover comes right off.

If you don't already know, here is the greatest collection of GMC V-6 experts known to man:

Great truck, good luck with it.

Glad to see all of the replies. Keep them coming.

I will gladly take any pictures that anyone wants to see. Thanks for all of the ideas on the interior pieces. I will save all that I can for a template.

Sorry Rick, I don't have any pics of the back yet. My camera died because I had the flash on inside the shop. I will get some pics tomorrow.
Here are two other pics:

Here is a pic of that mount that has been welded:

Clint, Here is what the mount looks like on my truck. It may have been modified when the power steering pump was added. I am pretty sure the ram assist power steering was not factory but added back in the day since the bracket to mount the pump is welded construction. Are there any other V6 4x4 GMC owners on the board? It'd be nice to see more of these engine mounts. What is up with the "cage" around your upper radio hose (the part right in front of drivers valve cover)?

My first impression of that "cage" like bracket is for the AC compressor, since I see in the cab AC vents. There were probably other brackets involved, but looks as though they may have been removed.

Probably a aftermarket style compressor, like a giant York compressor that was popular back in the day.
